The Biblioteca Jaume Fuster wants to promote language learning among its users through different materials and activities:

Language Exchanging up to 50% • The Library organises conversation groups that last one hour, with two to four adult people, including people who are fluent in Catalan or Spanish and people who are fluent in other language. • These groups last from September (or from the moment the group is created) until June (or until the group members are available).

• To register, you have to send an e-mail to biblioteca0011@gmail.com with the following information: —— Library card number —— Name —— Language/s you wish to practice —— Level (elementary, intermediate or advanced) —— Language/s offered

• Registration by e-mail begins on the 1st of July at 10.00 a.m.

—— Availability

• The library provides a place for the exchange meeting during its opening hours, as well as materials and dictionaries.

—— E-mail Address

• Groups are formed based on participants’ availability. • The first half hour takes place in Catalan or Spanish (on demand) and the second half hour in the other language of exchange. • The participants in the group must have the same level of the language they want to speak: A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, C2 (see table overleaf).

—— Phone number —— Age and Nationality

Language Learning Material • It is located on the first floor of the library.

• The group can’t change the meeting time.

• It contains documents in different formats: books, texts divided into levels, exercise notebooks, CDs, CD-ROMs, videos, DVDs, etc.

• The library is not responsible for sending out reminders of the meetings to those signed up.

• Dictionaries with the state “available” (identified with a blue sticker) can also be borrowed.

• Each group will appoint a supervisor to give any necessary feedback to the library

Novels in other languages

• Participants must notify as soon as possible via e-mail and/or phone any incidence and/or absence to the supervisor, to the other components of the group and to the library. • Participants must sign an attendance sheet at the beginning of each session. • If two consecutive absences without justification occur the position will be given to another user. • If the group ceases to meet two consecutive weeks without communicating it will be cancelled. • If you want to participate, you must have an e-mail account and library card.

• There’s a collection of novels in: English, French, Italian, Portuguese, German, Aranese, Galician, Basque, etc.

Magazines • The library has many subscribed foreign magazines: Catalonia Today, Deutsch Perfekt, The Economist, Le Nouvel Observateur and Paris Match.
