ADE 621 Prof. Karin Santiago The project proposes to create a self-sustaining community by taking the closed down school of Rafael Quinones Vidal and re-adapting it to a new program. The new program consists of urban farming, new housing, farmers market, restaurant and Emergency Management that would revitalize the community.
Puerto Rico
San Juan The Island of Puerto Rico was hit by hurricane Maria in the fall 2017. It has been one of the worst ones in history of the island and recovery is extremely slow
Old San Juan
San Juan
In San Juan over 200 schools have been shut down since the impact of the hurricane. It displaced hundreds of students and left the infrastructure empty and closed off to the communities.

Downtown Phoenix is the major hub for businesses and employees in the Phoenix Metropolitan area. The project will take advantage of the major pedestrian circulation routes in order to allow interaction with the public. This interaction will foster incubation of ideas by allowing students to build and test ideas in a setting that is condusive to “accidental” meetings.

Incubator Foster incubation for the development of quality people + ideas
Site Circulation
The ground floor is open and accessible to the public . The circulation paths come from the adjacent school of law and the existing sidewalks near the site.
Program
The ground floor is given to the public to encourage the exchange of ideas as well as the roof terraces. The private space is for university use.
Panel:
Started with a modular panel shape to cover a typical bay span.
Stack + Rotate:
This allowed to create a dynamic pattern in the vertical direction. The push would oscillate between outside and inside.
Push:
Center Point was chosen to push outward to reshape the panel.
Contour:
Instead of panels we Decided to use that form for louvers. We contoured the shape allowing us to get verticals that work great for the west orientation.
Panel Shape:
This resulted in a triangular shape that would allow to self shade the panel below at dierent times of the day.
Louvers
the louvers serve as the builidng skin and as a unique visual aesthetic as you approach the building.

Master Plan
Design Team:
Abdullah Aldakheelallah Javier Carrasco Andrej Pyndzyn Srdjan Todorovic Khalil Paris
Concept The masterplan proposes to transform the stretch of the Rio Salado Along Phoenix by creating a green belt that would have lush vegetation and serve as a partk to the community. The green beltway along with the river will extend into sites such as the Del Rio LandďŹ ll. These extensions would allow for development to spurt in those areas while maintaing connections with the nearby communites.

Las Vegas The challenge in this project was to analyze Las Vegas and determine an adequate site. Downtown Las Vegas is creating a light-rail system that will run through and connect the following : airport, UNLV, Downtown and the Cashman Center via Maryland Parkway.
LIGHT RAIL PROPOSED BY CITY FOR 2017
Downtown Las Vegas Downtown Las Vegas has seen an urban growth and aim towards creating a community for locals and tourists. This makes it ideal for the housing project proposed.
Site The site is an empty lot that sits in tow main access veins of downtown. The proposed light-rail by the city will run along Maryland and be integrated as part of the living system that will transport residents and the community.

ADE 382 Prof. Deborah Oakley The museum blends in with its historic Context by utilizing materials that are common in the town such as stone and concrete. Being a Roman Medieval city there is rich history to be preserved. It frames a view to the historic cathedral in town.
Public
Having a radial circulation with an atrium in the center allows distribution of natural light to adjacent gallery spaces

Plaza
Combining the linear and radial allows for the atrium to split the program while making the galleries circulate around the atrium.
Linear
The linear atrium also serves as circulation from the top of the hill to the bottom for Viterbo Residents. The atrium is extended past the roof lines to create a Tower element reminiscent of the medieval city
