Jacksonville Real Producers Giving Back - Ladies Morning In! The Letter Project!

Jacksonville Real Producers Ladies Morning In!

It was great to spend time with some awesome ladies while also giving back. We took some time to write letters through The Letter Project for some girls and ladies around the world that need some encouragement.

The Letter Project is a faith-based nonprofit located here in Jax Beach!

Thank you Christina Tatum and Maria Coutu with Atlantic Coast Title & Escrow for hosting us at your beautiful office!

Question of the month:

When and how did you end up living in NE Florida?

SHARON MILLS

Watson Realty Corp.

I moved to Jacksonville FL due to a transfer from Ohio. I knew noth ing about Jacksonville, but after arriving thought without a doubt Jacksonville was one of the best-kept secrets. When arriving seeing the beaches, rivers, and so much unused waterfront I remember thinking why don’t more people know about this city? In 2005, when the Super Bowl was held in Jax I think that put us on the map for the rest of the world to see. In 2006, I started selling real estate and have been blessed to assist many people from other cities who also think this is a wonderful city.

DEANNA FOERMAN

I ended up living in NE Florida when my father was stationed at NAS Jax when I was a young child. He then retired from the Navy, so we have been here ever since. I love NE Florida and have no plans of ever leaving.

JENNA FISHER

Marsh Landing Country Club Realty

I moved to Jacksonville in 2005 the year after graduating from Florida State University. I was working for a company called Southern Wine and Spirits at the time and working in Tallahassee before I transferred to Jacksonville as soon as the position opened up.

My dad was in the military, and we were stationed at Mayport 5 times. His side of the family also lived in Jacksonville. So it always felt like home when moving all over the US. After living in the Virginia Beach area for 13 years, I was finally able to move back to Jacksonville when I got hired in mortgages.

ROBIN ABRAHAM

My family had moved to Jax from Louisville, KY. So, I moved here after college (UWF), which is in Pensacola, FL.

PAUL WAGNER

Milestone Title Services

After graduating college, my dad saw that Merrill Lynch was moving to Jax and turned in my resume. I had an interview at 8 AM and I woke up in Tampa at 3 AM and drove up for the interview. My boss was so impressed that I was on time that he hired me.

KAY CHAFTON

My husband and I took a big chance and moved to Fleming Island from Brandon, Mississippi in May of 2001. I was in the manufactured housing industry at that time. I made a few calls and ended up with a job at Quality Homes in Middleburg. Later in 2001, I decided to get my RE license. Best career decision ever!

LAURA RANNEKLEV

Florida Welcome Home Real Estate

We moved to NE Florida in the summer of 2007 from NY. My husband’s job at CitiBank brought us to NE Florida. Originally we thought we would just be in Florida for a few years but loved it so much we stayed. Now 16 years later, NE Florida is home.

JAN RICE

Momentum Realty

I ended up living here in NE Florida about 12 years ago due to my active duty service in the United States Navy. Over the years I have set a solid foundation here while still deploying to other countries. Jacksonville, Florida has truly become a true sounding board for my family and me throughout the years as it is still very close to my hometown in Orangeburg, South Carolina and my husband’s hometown in Savannah, GA.

LISA PRUITT

I left Cocoa Beach to start college in North Carolina. My junior year of college I transferred to UNF to finish my elementary ed degree, and to be close to the beach. Just before I graduated from UNF, I was set up on a blind date with my now husband, that was 1990. I’ve been in North Florida ever since. We’ve been married 31 years.

I grew up in Jacksonville...moved away for college and jobs for 10 years, then I had the chance to return I never left...love it here!!

ED AKERS

Coldwell Banker Vanguard Realty

I am a Jacksonville native born in the old St Luke’s Hospital outside of Historic Springfield where UF SHANDS now stands. My family was a transplant from Virginia in 1962. I grew up on Jacksonville’s Northside until 1972, but then moved to Green Cove Springs and then Lake Asbury until about 1996. I then moved back into Duval County and live in Jacksonville’s Southside and Murray Hill communities until 2002. I moved into an 1899 Queen Anne style home in Historic Springfield that I had gutted and renovated and served on the community’s Historic Preservation Council for several years. I relocated from there to San Marco and now reside in a quiet Lakewood Community.

I joined the Navy on June 1st, 1993, in Woonsocket, Rhode Island. In 1998, I was stationed in Mayport, Florida and in 2000 I went to Great Lakes, Illinois. In 2003 the Navy moved me back to Mayport, Florida. I retired after 20 years in 2013 and we decided this was our home. The rest is History!

PAULA ANDREA POU

Florida Homes Realty & Mtg LLC

In October 1987 when I was a little girl, my parents decided to move from NJ/NY here as they had friends that raved about Jax. And since then I have loved Jax. I am proud and happy to help my out-of-state customers move and make Jax their home.
