Linda Cole & The Joshua Bowlus Quartet

From age three, Linda Cole was constantly surrounded within her immediate and extended family by musical talent, participating regularly in her family group “The Singing Coles” in her hometown of Freeport, Illinois. Linda has now created a distinctly recognizable voice of her own, stemming from influences such as Carmen McRae, Betty Carter, Rosemary Clooney, and all the classic music of Motown. Perhaps one of her greatest inspirations comes from the most prestigious and well-known singer within her family’s musical lineage: her father’s cousin, Nat King Cole.

Linda met pianist Joshua Bowlus in 2008, and they have since created an unstoppable musical partnership working together regularly across the east coast. As a versatile jazz pianist residing in Jacksonville, Bowlus has shared the stage and/or recorded with a variety of modern masters including such names as Wynton Marsalis, Chris Potter, Christian McBride, Reuben Rogers, among others. Recently, Bowlus & Cole have joined musical forces to record their first album together, also featuring trumpeter Alphonso Horne, which is entitled What a Wonderful World.
