Personal Statement: Hello ! I am an enthusiastic product design student from CEPT University. I believe every product has its own journey and tale, where the designer is the author and the user the reader . To me, creating products with innovative solutions and going through an iterative design process is ideal for a good final result. Hands on work, experimenting and exploring are a few things I enjoy while designing a product.

Expeditions in Non-Metals The Built spaces of today pose challenges to meet the need of specific products to be designed and manufactured. The products will have to meet the demands of lifestyle and technology changes. This studio introduced a design thinking process to find solutions for the products made of Nonmetals in the built environment. The studio explored various Non-Metals, like wood, plastics, ceramics, glass and miscellaneous materials. Each material was researched and understood from various aspects like, manufacturing, properties, types, limitations, manufacturers, Standards, tools used and so on. Based on this, various products of different materials were identified within a space context, they were designed and detailed out.

Phone holder lamp, Powered by Batteries, Rose wood Prototype The concept of the product was to assign a dual function to a simple product to enhance its usage, here we can see an elliptical silhouette, which is the part where the light will fix on to, the perpendicular part is where a book or a phone can be placed as a holder, the product is designed in such a way that they interlock within each other and serve the function.

Market Insert A market for post COVID situations • • • •
Area:320 m2 Each selling or shade module must be within 10.5 m2 Light-weight construction and easy assembly. The space and modules must be dynamic inorder to serve the dual program. • The space must be easily navigable. The program is to make a space where vendors can set up their shops, sell efficiently and safely. In the evenings the space is transformed into a space for recreation or a rest stop for the people who want to rest after their workout in the playground in front of the site. 8-6 shops will be situated within the space, and they will act as space for selling and for shade according to purpose needed.. Each shop will be 10.5 m2. the rest of the semiopen and open space is used for circulating and recreation.

Seating Artefact Through Form Explorations This seating is designed for a commercial space that is Acropolis mall in Ahmedabad. The concept was that the seating must welcome the user and also direct them through its passage. Thus it has adopted a widened ‘v’ shape, such that the mouth is facing towards the entrance and the vertex is towards the inner passage. The form of the seating is such that it has a directional aspect to it. Thus, highlighting the wide semi open passage through which pedestrians may commute. The seating can be used dynamically as it is accessible from all sides. Inorder to bring the essence of nature in this heavily manmade environment, the materials used have their rawness emphasized.
20
04
Form and Manipulation The studio focused on the importance of form in a product and how we can manipulate it to acheive the aesthetics and functions simultaneously. There were multiple exercises which made aware the techniques used to manipulate the form.

DIROM - Seating Artefact
The conceptualization of the seating artefact, started with basic sketches which included various concepts, the initial ideas were to incorporate nature in the man made environment but evolved to compliment the language of the space itself. Then different seating postures observed from the River front were observed and sketched to better the understanding of public seating.

Plan With Possible Arrangement For the Seating
THE CONCEPT - was that the seating must welcome the user and also direct them through its passage. Thus it has adopted a widened ‘v’ shape, such that the mouth is facing towards the entrance and the vertex is towards the inner passage. The form of the seating is such that it has a directional aspect to it. Thus, highlighting the wide semi open passage through the context in which pedestrians may commute, but because of its bulky nature the whole form of the seating started to evolve.
PROCESS - The concept gave way for the form of the artefact to be manipulated in physical models and 3D softwares. To reduce the weight of the seating some of the mass were removed, different techniques and forms were explored.

Dirom - Seating Artefact
The seating has a unique form with various endforms which have been maniplualed, and the whole piece feels seamless.
The contact surface is wood for comfortable seating, which is flushed to the precast concrete base.
Since it is a single piece, the artefact can be arranged in different combinations as per requirements to form units.

Venetion Inspired Shelf Brief : The concept was to design a furniture element which can act as an enhancing piece as well as be functonal, the furniture is designed for an interior context, and is inspired by venation of leafs from nature, to symbolize nature within an interor context. The parameters in particular were: The height, width depth of the whole rack. The no. of points for the voronoi pattern The varying pipe thickness of the support system.

Koi - Branding and Packaging Brief and Concept • Koi brand which sells watercolours, brushes and paint. • The logo is a pictorial mark, which Symbolises a Koi fish tail which is dunking in water just like the paint brushes do before painting. The colours are also inspired from the real Koi fish. • The packaging and branding aim on being easy to carry around and very functionally used for storing paints, brushes and stationery. The colour palette of this branding is subtle and complementing with each other.
