Dear Friends of Dock Mennonite Academy

Dock continues to be a place of gathering and belonging for students and our community. Dock is a place for people to gather from all cultures and socioeconomic backgrounds – a place where community is experienced and strengthened. Dock is a place where our community gathers to worship, enjoy the arts, celebrate, connect, collaborate, share food together, and compete in athletics. Dock is a place where people can belong. Our community needs Dock now more than ever. In I Thessalonians 5:16-18 we hear the encouragement to “Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”

We are grateful for the Dock community.

The 2021-2022 Annual Report is a celebration of this special place of gathering and belonging, Dock Mennonite Academy. It gives evidence of your partnership in this ministry. Thank you! Your faithful support of Dock is an inspiration to our students and faculty.

We enjoyed another strong financial year despite the challenges we faced. Your support through gifts and fund-raising events was strong. Participation in the EITC and SPE tax credit programs increased substantially, making Dock accessible to more families. Your support gave evidence of the incredible community that surrounds and encourages our Dock students.

We are inspired by the many stories of impact at Dock. A student shared in chapel of her experience on a mission trip to Honduras during her high school mini term. She recounted an interaction with a family who received a cement floor for their house. The mother gave this student a long hug, looked her in the eyes, and said, “God bless you”. The student recalled, “When I got in the car, I burst into tears because I was overwhelmed by this feeling of love from this woman. I couldn’t understand why this woman said this to me because it felt so personal. I’ve struggled with accepting religion, and as hard as it was for me to accept, in that moment I saw God through that woman.” These seeds of growth are why we are passionate about our work at Dock.

Throughout this year, Dock partnered with parents and church congregations in shaping the lives of young people. We celebrate your generosity and your role in providing a faith-infused education for our students. We welcome your continued support as we inspire young people to grow and lead the next generation toward a life of impact for Christ!

In Christ, Dr. Conrad Swartzentruber Superintendent
