The study covers the planning and design of a headquarters for a video sharing website that will help promote the company and integrate people into the video sharing realm. The development consists of facilities like production studios, equipment, a training/screening room and post-production resources, and so on. It is also included in the research for the headquarters to function as a playground for creators and audiences; as well as incorporate designs to help market YouTube’s partners. The project aims to provide a place where people who share the same interests in video content making can interact and learn by providing state-of-the-art facilities which includes studios, training rooms, editing suites, etc. It will also help generate better customer engagement and loyalty by increasing Youtube’s exposure locally and internationally through interesting promotion strategies and/ or affiliating with different social media platforms. Lastly, it is to innovate new online video standards and push the limits of existing technology to provide an accurate, easy-to use and fast service that anyone can access anywhere, allowing lower production videos but higher engagement values.

“Architecture is not just about accommodating very prescriptive demands—it’s doing it in a way that stimulates the unfolding of life.” - Bjarke Ingels. It’s important in architecture to create a world that is desirable and believable and attractive, that people want to spend time in it. Creating exciting and stimulating environments is a primary condition for making stories.

BUTIL : MARTIAL LAW MUSEUM CULTURAL | TAGUIG, PHILIPPINES DESIGN STUDIO 8 | GROUP WORK | 2015 FLOOR PLANS | ELEVATIONS | 3D MODEL | PERSPECTIVES
Butil is a museum which aims to showcase human rights as it is perceived in the Philippines, events that have treated it with contempt, and the continuous everyday fight of the Filipino people to uphold it. This will be a place to exhibit and display valuable entities for the benefit of the Martial Law survivors and victims, to remind the present generation about the history, events, and lessons that should be preserved and shared. It also symbolizes the nation’s achievements in cultural, economic, and military-centered undertakings.

PARKS
Rice as a staple food of Filipinos is the concept of this museum. It signifies the hardship of a common Filipino growing and harvesting rice. Similarly, in the year of 1972, the country experienced the most inhumane and unjustifiable circumstance one could imagine. The life of a common Filipino in the Martial Law era back then and the struggles of a farmer are so significant to us that we deemed it comparable to each other. Hence, the form of the structure drew its inspiration from that of a rice.

SITE RESIDENTIAL
We wanted the Museum and Ancillary to follow an axis. Therefore, if one stands anywhere in the site, they will have a clear view of the different elements and structures. It was also important proper configuration of spaces were kept in mind. We devised a written walkthrough of the museum to have a clear vision of its flow and arrangement of exhibits are in accordance to spaces.

S TA . A N A P E R F O R M I N G ARTS THEATER CULTURAL | MANILA, PHILIPPINES DESIGN STUDIO 8 | GROUP WORK | 2015 FLOOR PLANS | ELEVATIONS | SECTIONS | 3D MODEL | PERSPECTIVES
A proposed theater to promote quality performing arts to a greater number of audiences and thereby contributing to the overall cultural enrichment and art appreciation of the Filipino people. Our design philosophy for the project is inspired and driven by the words of Goethe: “I call architecture frozen music”. Given that the theater reflects movements of art, dance and music, we wanted to showcase a theater that expresses frozen music movement that can be felt flowing as you go inside. The site is located in Sta. Ana which is a district of the City of Manila in the Philippines, located at the southeast banks of the Pasig River, bounded on the northeast by Mandaluyong City, Makati City to the east, southwest is the Manila district of Paco, and to the west, Pandacan.

The form came from the concept itself – Progression – development toward a destination or a more advanced state in stages. The figures were defined through the act itself: Like diverse physiques joining together CORRESPONDINGLY INSPIRED WITH MOZART’S CLARINET CONCERTO IN A MAJOR, K. 622. The piece flows smoothly from its three movements, in a fast–slow–fast form: Allegro, Adagio, Allegro. The three movements represent the three major divisions of design in our form – the grand lobby, the auditorium, the communal area. The Grand Lobby houses the restaurants, reception area, receiving area, ticket counter, etc. The Theater Auditorium houses the auditorium, back of house, offices, services, etc. The Communal Feature houses the restaurants, cafes, multi-function hall, exhibition hall, sky garden, educational facilities, etc. This theater is contextual and active, thus the design progresses with its atmosphere or mood from moment to moment.

Because we had a constricted amount of land to work on for a big project, we had to incorporate a few design strategies such as (1) suffusing the space with natural light. Window glass creates the least boundary between inside and outside. Its transparency glass allows light to penetrate into interior space while maintaining a visual connection with the outside world. Natural light provides us with the means to show spaces and volumes and interact with our environment to make people enjoy the space. Lastly, light evokes the emotion. (2) Use of Low E-glass window to ensure better natural lighting because
it is a higher visible light transmitter compared to other glass windows. It facilitates heat absorption and humidity indoors and acts to muffle noise. The (3) McCandless System is a method of lighting the stage. It is a 3-point system: 2 lighting fixtures are placed in front of the subject and 1 fixture behind. These locations illuminate the features of the subject well and ensure they appear natural and have 3-dimensional form. McCandless recommended using a warm colour in one front light, and a cool colour in the other. The colours
blend for a natural appearance and contrast with each other to provide definition. The third light, or ‘backlight’, is placed behind and high overhead the subject, without being directly over the subject or shining in the audience’s eyes. The luminaires lighting each acting area are arranged to achieve the desired visibility, to adequately reveal the actor’s form and to make sure the actor appears separate and distinct from the scenic background. Another strategy is the use of (4) Photovoltaic Roofing to replace the skylights and facade. It filters the amount
of sunlight as it harvests solar energy to be used for the electricity during the night. The (5) Constellation Acoustic System will be installed in the auditorium. With Constellation, there are no constraints or expense of traditional materials and auditorium shape. It enables the acoustical properties of a theater to be altered to suit the nature of the performance taking place. Constellation provides flexibility unattainable with traditional mechanical methods of variable acoustics, such as movable walls, drapes, orchestra shells, or secondary chambers.

Inside the theater, alternate row sightlines where each patron sees between the heads of patrons in the row in front and over the heads of patrons in the second row in front, pointing the chairs more or less toward the performance. It is ensured that the performers not being obstructed by a wall, railing, column, ceiling overhang, loudspeaker cluster. The Sky Park is bathed in glorious sunlight the whole day. Landscaped gardens, delightful water features, coffee shops and restaurants provide its users with the opportunity to enjoy the beauty and the benefits of the outdoors; with the lawns and gardens providing a cool green setting. Proper designing of outdoor public areas and structures to achieve environmental, social-behavioral, or aesthetic outcomes of the theater. Green walls cleans outside air of pollutants and offsets carbon footprint of people and fuel emissions and cleans interior air space by removing VOCs and other harmful toxins

KAISA GOLDEN BAY RESORT MIXED USE DEVELOPMENT | SHENZHEN, CHINA ARCOGROUP, INC. | SUPERVISOR: EVANGELINE SAGCAL/JOANNABELLE PRANGAN 2017 | FLOOR PLANS, ELEVATIONS
Kaisa Golden Bay Resort is located on the northwestern shoreline of Dapeng peninsula in the eastern part of Shenzhen, thus showing its magnificent coastal view. Because the area is considered an important part of the Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao metropolitan area, the region will also build four five-star hotels and luxury residences with sea views in the future, with the international theme park as the center catalyst radiating the development throughout the region. The owner wanted to make it a destination that integrates hotel vacations, themed entertainment and high-end living. The international theme park includes five themed venues such as the Children’s Pavilion, Aquarium, Future Pavilion, Water Park, Snow Garden, as well as waterfront commercial blocks showcasing beach views. The design utilizes flowing linearity and a multitude of paving techniques to create an oceanthemed business environment. The entire park combines with the various venues and outdoor space to create continuous and rich scenes.

SM MEGAMALL CUSTOMER SERVICE FIT-OUT | MANDALUYONG, PHILIPPINES MAJOR SHOPPING MANAGEMENT CORP. SUPERVISOR: JACQUELINE CHUA | 2019
The SM Megamall Department Store Customer Service was one of my projects working as a Design Officer for Major Shopping Management Corporation. The site had quite a number of issues from height discrepancies in previous drawings, project timeline and schedule, data cabling, and construction management. As a Design Officer, I was involved in the finalization of floor plans, application of building permit, coordinating with contractors and suppliers, and making sure the design and SM’s standards are carried out.
