Promises
Joshua Malapitan
In the midst of a skeptical world, A promise enlightened the hopeless. Words spoken latched onto the mind, From someone we conceive true.

Although assurance is still unseen, We kept ourselves esteemed. For trust overpowers doubt, Even if reality stabs and leaves us no way out.
We never understand the heft of promises Until the day we face its consequences. A time where recision’s the only means To save one’s heart and inner peace.
Wishing oblivion is the only cure, A shattered pledge has afflicted. Years may come and go, Won’t fix a past that has been tainted.
