Contact us today to learn how Fisdap can help guide your EMS students towards success. www.fisdap.net | info@fisdap.net | 651-690-9241

Ramp Up Training. Fisdap will help you master our tools before your first day of class. We provide howto guides, videos, and tailored one-on-one training sessions for program directors, clinical coordinators, instructors, and students. Entrance Exam. You can’t understand your student’s strengths and weaknesses or document student growth without baseline assessments. Our Entrance Exam is specifically designed to help identify the strengths and weaknesses of incoming students. The Entrance Exam assesses students’ reading comprehension, math level, mastery of EMT subject matter, and personality traits like agreeableness, conscientiousness, and neuroticism levels. Setup Internship Tools. To get the most out of our Scheduler and Skills Tracker internship tools, it’s essential to make some customizations: setup your program’s clinical and field sites, enter any site-specific requirements into our compliance system, review your program’s graduation requirements, and set peer and instructor signoff goals for your labs. All of the evaluation forms you see in Fisdap can be customized for your program. Once you setup, you’re good to go!

Driven by Community Fisdap Scheduler can do more than manage your own clinical placements online. You can also partner with other programs in your area to setup Shared Scheduler, allowing you to manage shifts at field and clinical sites from different programs. Students from multiple programs can sign up for shared shifts on a first come, first serve basis. Administrators from multiple programs can setup free staff accounts to allow them to check the schedule at any time.

The

Way

Classroom & Labs Scheduling Made Easy. Fisdap Scheduler helps manage clinical placements online in a centralized, customizable, and sharable calendar. With Fisdap Scheduler, you can schedule one-time or recurring shifts, limiting shifts by student provider levels, control when students can sign up for shifts, and customize which shifts can be traded or dropped by your students. Paperless, Simplified Skills Tracking. Fisdap Skills Tracker documents student learning and reports achievement and growth in psychomotor performance evaluation through task training, including scenario simulations. Skills Tracker comes pre-loaded with the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians’ (NREMT) newest Paramedic Psychomotor Competency Portfolio (PPCP) skill sheets. These skill sheets can be used as-is or customized to meet your specific needs. Later, when it’s time for accreditation and end-of-term checkups, instructors and students can quickly and easily generate comprehensive reports without referencing stacks and stacks of paper. Even Better Together. Together, the Skills Tracker and Scheduler make it easy to manage field and clinical experiences from start (scheduling the shift) to finish (documenting patient care) and collect valuable data throughout. In fact, Fisdap’s Skills Tracker tool has been used to record more than 20 million patient encounters, thereby creating an incredibly powerful set of actionable data is used to drive cuttingedge research.

Driven by Community Each year, Fisdap offers free Scenario Validation Workshops to help educators learn how to design scenarios that accurately assess student competency. By learning to improve scenario reliability and validity and mastering formative and summative scenario building, educators will properly prepare students for psychomotor exams and, more importantly, prepare them for what they will experience on the job.

The

Way

Formative Assessments Diagnose Strengths and Weaknesses, Early and Often. Our Unit Exams feature a series of secure tests that diagnose your students’ strengths and weaknesses throughout the course. These computer-based exams mimic the NREMT cognitive exam and expose students to criticalthinking questions after each unit of your curriculum. Not all Tests Are Created Equally. If you are looking for a vendor to provide you with validated EMS exams, you have a few options. If you are looking for an assessment partner that can deliver validated EMS exams that are also community driven, defendable, and predictive, Fisdap is your only solution. Exam Security is Paramount. To protect exam security, we require that all exams be given in a proctored environment. Proctoring the exam enhances exam security for your students and all other Fisdap users. Balanced, Surgically Accurate Learning Prescriptions. Fisdap’s Learning Prescriptions show you and your students exactly how they performed on tests, including a review of specific problem areas where students should invest more study time. Alternatively, Group Learning Prescriptions evaluate how the students performed as a class and allow you to target the class’s collective weaknesses.

Driven by Community Writing a valid and reliable exam is difficult, time consuming, and cannot be created by one person alone. When you work with Fisdap, you’re also working with a village of educators who help build our exams. Plus, because we conduct weekly review sessions to validate scenarios and test items, our exam banks are continuously growing. Please visit the Fisdap Member’s Area to sign up to join us for an upcoming review session!

The

Way

Patient Encounters Entering Patient Data. Students can enter patient care information on our website or by using our mobile app. Our suite of reports present that information to help you monitor student progress and ensure that graduation requirements are being upheld. If accreditation and portfolio information are important to your program, we can deliver that too. Fueling EMS Research. To date, 20 million vitals and information from over 8 million ambulance runs has been entered into Fisdap. We anonymize this data, provide EMS researchers with access to it, and enable them to use the information to develop new best practices and improve overall patient care in the field. Preceptors make a difference. Our CAPCE-approved Preceptor Training course teaches preceptors how to become stronger, more reliable role models and mentors. This online video series delivers an introduction to adult education theory, listening techniques, how to give feedback and other essential preceptor tools.

Driven by Community Facilitating EMS research is one of Fisdap’s most important objectives, and we are proud to be a leader in EMS educational research. EMS standards are often determined by collective professional opinion and not scientific research. Fisdap, along with our collaborators, is making intentional and substantial efforts to improve EMS education and lay the foundation for future research studies. For more than a decade, the information and data that students enter into the Fisdap database has supported dozens of research projects—many of which have won awards and national recognition.

The

Way

Summative Assessments Follow the NREMT Blueprint. Comprehensive Exams, our fulllength summative exams, assess the breadth of the comprehensive curriculum. The fully secured and proctored exams follow the NREMT’s Task Analysis blueprint. This way, exams can map the number of airway, pediatric, cardiac arrest, and other questions to the reality of what providers experience in the field. The Freedom of Independent Study. The comprehensive practice exam in Study Tools does not have to be scheduled or proctored by you, as students take exams on their own time. These exams feature 200 multiple choice questions written by many of the same subject matter experts who write exam questions for the NREMT. It’s full of questions that will test your students’ critical-thinking skills, which are essential to passing the certification exam. Preparation that’s Predictive. Time after time, research proves that more than 97% of students who pass our exams go on and pass the NREMT on their first attempt. Just as each item in our exams is thoroughly reviewed and vetted, our entire exams are also painstakingly constructed to ensure that they are balanced, reliable, and truly predictive of future success.

Driven by Community When you see scenarios in our bank that have been marked as “Valid,” you can trust that they have undergone our rigorous review process and have been seen by a minimum of three subject matter experts. Using these scenarios in your summative assessment process ensures that your students are exposed to patient care scenarios that are meaningful, valuable, and defendable.

The

Way

Remediation Truly Predictive, Powerful Learning Tools. Throughout their entire course experience, students can rely on our suite of preparatory and assessment resources to improve their chances of success. We rely on subject matter experts, many of which also write questions for the NREMT, to develop reliable, defendable, and balanced exams that are truly predictive of future success. Finally, Learning Prescriptions show students exact strengths and weaknesses and help them improve as students and providers. Peer Reviewed Articles from Leaders in EMS. EMS Reference delivers authoritative content on EMS science, research, and education at absolutely zero cost to your students. Plug into Podcasts. Fisdap produces Open Airways, a project to collect and record an oral EMS history. Providers share their stories to improve our profession and inspire a new generation of caregivers. We also sponsor the Prehospital Care Research Forum (PCRF) podcasts. These monthly podcasts feature a panel of thought provoking moderators who intelligently dissect and discuss recent articles and research.

Driven by Community EMS Reference is the result of hundreds of educators working together to build a communal source for high-quality, peer-reviewed, EMS information based on the latest science and research. EMS educators and thought leaders are welcomed to sign-up to become an author, reviewer, or subject matter editor at www.emsreference.com.

The

Way

Student Success Proper Planning Predicts Positive Results. Students who use and pass our Study Tools, Unit Exams, or Comprehensive Exams have a 97% or greater chance of passing their NREMT exams on their first attempt. Hassle-Free Reporting for Accreditation. When your students use Fisdap Skills Tracker to document their psychomotor performance and patient encounters, you can easily generate comprehensive reports without working your way through stacks and stacks of paper. Driving Better Patient Care. Fisdap’s assessment and internship tools don’t just create better students, they create world-class providers who deliver better patient care in the field. Plus, the research fueled by Fisdap’s powerful database is used to improve future patient outcomes.

Driven by Community After your course concludes and your students have taken the NREMT exam, Fisdap encourages each program director to return to the Fisdap Member’s Area and report your students’ pass rates on their first attempts to pass the NREMT exam. This helps us determine the reliability and predictive qualities of our testing products. More importantly, this allows us to engage our user community to ensure that we’re developing world class educational tools that are meeting the needs of educators and students alike.

Robust Learning Plans and Dashboards The personalized recertification roadmaps and dashboards in Recert reflect national, regional, or local/agency requirements, as well as the user’s strengths and weaknesses. The Recert platform features: USER-FRIENDLY DASHBOARDS:

A PERSONAL SCHEDULE/CALENDAR:

These dashboards eliminate guesswork and capture progress towards recertification at a glance. The dashboards provide both a comprehensive view of a practitioner’s overall progress toward recertification and the ability to drill down into granular progress at the national, regional, or local/agency levels.

This allows practitioners to manage their continuing education activities. The schedule functionality gives practitioners the ability to prioritize and plan their recertification timeline, by mapping out a personalized timetable of online and in-person courses and activities against their license expiration date.

COURSE RECOMMENDATIONS: Practitioners can review personalized recommendations by category and topic in order to identify specific courses that fulfill their outstanding recertification requirements.

A PROFESSIONAL PORTFOLIO:

CORRELATION TO SKILLS PERFORMANCE:

COMPLETION CARDS:

Topic areas that require skills verification are gated to ensure that continuing education credit is not awarded until the practitioner uploads a skills verification form, which is available for download on the Recert dashboard.

The Recert portfolio contains all of the practitioner’s completed continuing education activities.

Professional “cards” are generated upon successful completion of a Recert course. Course completion is automatically tracked against the practitioner’s requirements and completion data is reported to accrediting bodies.

EMPLOYER DASHBOARD FUNCTIONALITY: Practitioners can associate themselves with one or multiple employers through the use of an Employer ID. The employer, in turn, will be able to view, filter, search, and message practitioners with whom

30

they are associated. Comprehensive dashboards enable employers to track employee compliance and progress toward recertification.

Say Goodbye to Stale, Boring Courses Most courses offered on Recert take just 1- to 2-hous to complete and feature an emphasis on interactive, media-rich, scenario-based learning and high-quality posttests developed by subject matter experts. All courses on Recert can be completed on mobile, tablet, or desktop devices. Much of the core content on Recertis adapted from gold standard education courses created by the NAEMT, American Academy of Pediatrics, and American College of Emergency Physicians, as well as from articles, videos, and other learning materials created by industry experts. Recert course content covers a range of topics that can be used to meet national, regional, or local/agency requirements, as well as individual areas of interest. EMS practitioners using Recert will be able to easily track all of their continuing education hours, from online and instructor-led courses and in-person events, as well as skills proficiency.
