Christmas and New Years are behind us and what a joyful season it was! Now it is time to focus on those 2023 New Year’s resolutions and get ready for the Mardi Gras season!! Luckily, Mardi Gras Day is on February 21st, so we don’t have long to wait for the start of the parades and Carnival fun! Who likes to decorate for Mardi Gras? It is my second favorite season just behind Christmas. Some of you might not even want to think about decorating after such a busy season, BUT it is much easier than you think and gives your house that added flare!! Here are a few tips to smoothly transition from Christmas decor to Mardi Gras decor! 1. Leave your tree up! Yes, you read that correctly. Take off the true Christmas ornaments, especially anything red. You can leave any green, gold and white! Then just add any Mardi Gras colored or New Orleans inspired ornaments. 2. Fresh Flowers! All of the local grocery stores carry purple, green, and yellow flowers. A cinnamon scented candle can sure put you in the Mardi Gras spirit. 3. Use the beads that you catch at the parades! You can fill vases, hang them on the tree, lay them around your table, and so much more! 4. Whether you are hosting a dinner or attending an event during this season, be sure to grab your favorite king cake at one of our local bakeries.

Laissez les bons temps rouler!
