WORLD-LEADING INNOVATION & PERFORMANCE

The demands placed on agricultural machines are extreme: more extensive farms mean more distance to travel and more time spent in the cab carrying out more diverse tasks. The JCB Loadall gives – and keeps on giving – you more. Part of the JCB agricultural range, the 10 Loadall models (more than any other manufacturer) build on our heritage in agriculture and the experience gained since we pioneered the telescopic handler concept in 1977.

The result is a solution to fit every need and every size operation, all designed specifically for agriculture, not adapted from construction. Superb productivity comes from the powerful engines and hydraulics, with cutting-edge JCB innovation to boost performance even further. Fast travel speeds, a wide range of attachments, luxurious comfort and effortless control for day long working. The Loadall is the perfect partner for your tractor.

Ultimate maneuverability fast facts

JCB 515-40 compact loadalls n The most compact dimensions and outstanding maneuverability enable fast operation in restricted areas n Central cab position and low offset boom give outstanding all-round vision n Telescopic lift and reach performance provides for great loading capability n 4-cylinder engines offer optimum performance and high power-to-weight ratios n Hydrostatic transmission provides ‘big’ pushing power and excellent controllability

You want productivity and performance, you want go anywhere compact dimensions and you want a machine that will get you into the smallest of places. Before, all this meant using a skid steer for maneuverability, a wheeled loader for lift capacity and forklift for lift height, but not anymore. The JCB 515-40 does all the tasks of these other machines and gives the versatility of a telescopic handler to a whole new range of customers. So how does the 515-40 do all these things? One word… innovation. Everything hangs on our revolutionary single spine chassis, which has its strength under the boom and wraps around the cab and engine. This allows us to position the cab lower, providing three key benefits. First, the whole machine is low, only 5ft 11in tall. Second, to achieve that overall height, we didn’t have to shrink the cab, so there is no compromise on operator comfort. And third, cab entry is now at ground level, providing easy step in, step out access. Despite ultra-compact dimensions, the 515-40 packs a real punch. Based on customer feedback we know that you want compact dimensions and high performance. So the 515-40 delivers both, it can lift 3300 lbs to a height of 13ft 2in, and lift 1650 lbs with 8 ft of forward reach, this allows you to load a truck from one side.

The 515-40 gets you into places where no telescopic has gone before, poultry sheds, greenhouses, poly tunnels, nurseries, fruit farms, vineyards and landscaping yards. The 515-40 is the revolution we have all been waiting for. The 515-40 gives bucket performance comparable to a skid steer or compact wheel loader. Plus, 4 individual hydraulic wheel motors and 4WS equal outstanding traction and maneuverability into and out of the tightest of corners, around pillars and through doorways. Whether you stay on concrete or take the 515-40 off road the 4WD ensure the machine is always up to the task. The hydrostatic transmission provides equal power to all 4 wheels. Add in easy operation, infinite speed control and class leading fuel economy, and you have the winning formula for power, performance, productivity and versatility. Thanks to the design of the chassis, JCB has been able to fit a full size cab while maintaining a very low height. This makes the interior spacious and the all round visibility superb. The split door allows the operator to shut out unpleasant conditions or open the top half to improve ventilation. And side access provides safe ground level entry and exit.

JCB’s compact Loadall range brings telescopic handler performance to previously inaccessible agricultural yards and buildings. With capacities from 4000 to 6000 lb and lift heights from 13 to 18ft 6in, they are the perfect solution when working in confined spaces. These capacities, from machines as low as 6’ 7” in height and 5’ 3” wide, make them a more versatile, comfortable and stable alternative to a skid steer loader. Mounting the cab centrally at the front of the machine gives the operator an unparalleled view of the carriage, both at ground level and through the lifting cycle to full height and reach. The low offset boom provides excellent vision to the right hand side, particularly to the rear corner. The cab itself offers clear step-in access, ideal for operation on a livestock farm. All controls fall easily to hand; including

single-lever command of lift and crowd functions, plus separate levers for extend retract and auxiliary functions. The 520-40 is fitted with a 2.2-liter diesel engine producing 50hp (37.5kW). The two other models feature 4.4-liter JCB Dieselmax engines delivering 85hp (63kW). High engine output combined with low overall weight equals a high power-to weight ratio. The engines drive through a hydrostatic transmission for simple operation and ease of handling in the most restricted spaces. Hydrostatic drive provides excellent pushing power, particularly at low speeds, as well as the ability to operate the machine using only the accelerator, ensuring smooth acceleration and deceleration and precise control in confined areas.

chassis and boom All JCB Loadalls are built around a purpose-designed chassis for rigidity, strength and load distribution, incorporating mounting points for axles, cab, hydraulic tank, engine and boom. Particular attention is paid to the construction of the heavy-duty axle feet, which are designed to absorb the immense stresses generated during continuous loading work. The booms on all Loadall models are designed for long term performance and durability. To add vital strength JCB use a U-shaped pressing and closing plate, rather than separate welded plates. The tilt and extension rams are held by keyhole castings, which run the width of the boom to further improve overall structural integrity. All machines also benefit from an integrated boom nose design, incorporating thick sections, heavily reinforced and fully welded to provide extra strength in this high-stress area.

mounted boom with central rams to ensure symmetrical loadings. All machines feature full-width bearing support at the main pivot point. technical guide

JCB AGRI Super/XTRA direct drive transmission

transmission The 515-40 has a hydro static transmission that drives 4 motors mount at the wheels. This ensures the power is right where the operator needs it. The hydrostatic transmission fitted to the 520-40, 524- 50 and 527-55 consists of a variable displacement pump and single hydraulic motor, regulating speed and torque and transmitting high power at low speed from a compact unit. This allows continuous speed regulation simply by operating the accelerator pedal. Both hydrostatic transmissions also incorporate powerful engine braking – ideal for accurate operation in confined spaces. The inching pedal allows full use to be made of hydraulic power while precisely controlling travel speed. The 526-56 is fitted with the four-speed JCB synchromesh transmission with, powered, reversing shuttle. Working in conjunction with an engine-mounted torque converter, a gear change lever with a transmission disconnect button allows smooth gear changes to be made on the move. Each gear is matched to the engine characteristics for maximum torque in all applications. A powered reverser allows for smooth forward and reverse gear changes to be made while moving. The 527-58 is equipped with a step-less transmission, that allows the operator can accelerate from zero to 20 mph without changing gear giving rapid acceleration and productivity. For those applications where speed needs to be limited, a dashboard mounted switch limits the maximum speed available to 6 mph, aiding loader performance and pushing power, ideal for bucket work. For controllability, the optional Vari-Speed, creep mode with hand throttle enables forward speed and engine rpm to be controlled independently which allows the operator to control the machine speed while maintaining engine rpm.

the machine driving through the front axle only, transmission and tire wear are reduced. four-wheel drive is automatically reengaged when braking to maintain excellent stopping power through both axles.

hydraulics JCB Loadalls are world renowned for their hydraulic power. This is due to the combination of pressure and flow from the pump and the boom geometry – designed to maximize power where you need it – in break-out applications, and also give you fast response during loading work. A full powershift transmission is fitted as standard on 536-60, 541 70 and 535-95 Loadalls. Powershift enables ‘twistgrip’ gear changes to be made quickly and easily, even under load for maximum productivity, especially in heavy pushing applications such as manure loading. The 541-70 Agri Xtra machine is fitted with a JCB six speed powershift transmission, which is controlled by an electronic control unit (ECU). When operating in fifth gear, the transmission will automatically select sixth once a pre-set speed is reached, bypassing the torque converter and giving direct drive for greater roading and towing performance. Limited slip differentials (LSDs) prevent loss of traction in slippery conditions and ensure maximum drive to the wheels is maintained by progressively transferring up to 75% of the available torque to the non-slipping wheel automatically. The LSD is standard on the 536-60, 541-70 and 535-95 and optional on all other models. In order to improve transport performance further, 536-60, 541-70 and 535-95 Agri Loadalls are available with a four-wheel drive disconnect switch. With

Fixed displacement hydraulic gear pumps are fitted to the 51540, 520-40, 524-50, 527-55, 526-56 and 527-58. This simple, reliable technology provides instant response and long service life. The 536-60, 541-70 and 535-95 have Variflo piston pump hydraulics featuring maximum flow of 37 gallons per minute to the boom. The load-sensing valve provides an effective flow sharing system, allowing simultaneous operation of functions for faster loading cycles. All Agri Loadalls, except the 515-40 and 520-40, are equipped as standard with a single lever, servo, joystick. The joystick is mounted to the cab and falls easily to the operators hand and because it is servo assisted it requires very little effort from the operator, reducing operator fatigue during long days on the farm. The seat-mounted servo joystick, on 541-70 Agri Xtra, gives operators low lever effort, precise control of boom functions and improved comfort. All Agri Loadalls are fitted with a single auxiliary service as standard.

smooth ride The JCB Smooth Ride System is a unique, patented boom suspension system, exclusive to JCB Loadalls. The system works through a pair of gas accumulators mounted directly onto the lift ram, still incorporating the hose burst check valve in the system for safety. The accumulators allow the boom and load to move independently of the chassis, effectively damping the forces imposed on the machine as it travels over uneven ground.

The 515-40, 520-40, 524-50 and 527-55 come standard with a multi-lever joystick arrangement: the main lever controls lift and tilt functions, while two other levers are for boom extend and auxiliary functions. JCB 526-56 cab interior

A single lever servo joystick is standard on 526-56, 527-54 53660, 541-70 and 535-95 and optional on 524-50 and 527-55. All hydraulics services are controlled with the servo joystick, this reduces lever effort and allows proportional control of all the hydraulic functions. This system gives excellent feedback to the operator for precise, reliable operation.

The key benefits of SRS pare better load retention, either when handling loose materials such as feed in a bucket, or when carrying bales in a grab. Operator comfort is improved on the road and in the field, particularly over longer cycles on uneven terrain, such as traveling across rows when loading bales in the field. These benefits allow operation at higher speeds resulting in greater overall machine productivity. The Smooth Ride System also reduces considerably the forces imposed on the machine during transport and work cycles, resulting in less stress on components and even longer machine life. SRS is standard on all Agri Plus and Agri Xtra models.

A few words about JCB

A family company on a global scale. JCB is no ordinary company. From the dreams of one man, Joseph Cyril Bamford, we have grown into the world’s biggest privately owned heavy equipment company by volume. Since 1945, the same attention to detail, passion for progress and family spirit has taken us from strength to strength. Nowadays, JCB operates across all five continents, manufacturing at 18 factories in the UK, Brazil, Germany, China, North America and India. With 1,500 dealerships and depots selling and supporting our products in over 150 countries, we are one of the top three manufacturers of construction equipment with some of the finest engineering facilities in the world.

A history of world-class innovation. Sir Anthony Bamford, the son of Mr. JCB, still runs the company today.

Our business has always been driven by innovation, using only the most advanced technology, components and processes, meticulous design and rigorous testing. Evidence of this doesn’t come much more powerful than our revolutionary JCB Dieselmax engine. Having grabbed the headlines when it smashed the world land speed record at 350.092 mph, it is now providing our customers with tomorrow’s performance today.
