What does winning this award mean to you/your company?
We owe our success to our hardworking employees and our phenomenal customer base. Our employees have engaged themselves in the community and have had the opportunity to really become a part of this amazing area. This community has embraced us and allowed us every opportunity to grow and serve and we couldn’t be more grateful. We are so honored to celebrate our 75th year of business with each and every one of you and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
What would you like people to know about your business? Our roots are firmly planted in electrical contracting, but over the years Huston has expanded to offer our customers a wide variety of services. We have divisions in generators and compressors, telecommunications, signs and services, Control4 home and business automation and SMART interactive displays. Our customers appreciate that we are able to help them with so many of their home and business needs, while having employees that are knowledgeable in their specific division to ensure that the customer is getting the best service we can provide. Now, my three sons share in the partnership with me in both the Painting & Wallcovering business, but now also in Thayer’s Exteriors, since 2010.
What does winning this award mean to you/your company? Winning the Reader’s Choice Award means a lot to all of us – every individual in our company. WE are blessed with a very dedicated, hard-working team that functions well as one unit. So it is a company effort that is receiving this award.We know we are not the only painting company that works hard to maintain a good reputation, and we try to go the extra mile to give our customers a final product that we can both be proud of. How long have you been in business? Bone Dry Roofing has been in business for 25 years. It was founded by Gene Judd, son of a contractor, out of his garage. We came to Lafayette 8 years ago and now are managed by myself, Matt Deckard.

What would you like people to know about your business? We are a family owned business and locally operated. My family resides in the Lafayette area, my sons attend Lafayette schools, and we love being a part of this community. Our office has six local employees and two roofing crews. We believe in doing the job right, the first time. We treat every project like it’s our own home. All employees have passed quality training and have roofing experience. Arnold “Arni” Cohen opened the doors to the flagship restaurant in 1965 at Market Square Shopping Center in Lafayette. Originally seating a little over 100 people, within 10 years Arni’s at Market Square was one of the largest and most successful restaurants in Indiana, with seating for almost 500 patrons. The company is now owned by Arni’s 2 sons, Brad and Kurt Cohen and operates 18 restaurants throughout Central and Southern Indiana, as well as Linarco Distributing Company, a food production and distribution facility. In February 2015, Arni’s will celebrate 50 years of service to Indiana!

What does winning this award mean to you/your company? It’s really surprising. We’ve only been in business for about a year and feel like we can still improve our store. It’s reassuring to know that, even in such a short amount of time, our customers think we’re doing something good. It’s certainly a good motivator. We opened in January 2013, so we’ve been open for about a year and 10 months now. We fell in love with the self-serve frozen yogurt concept when we were living in California and wanted to bring the concept back to Lafayette. Our goal was to create a warm and friendly environment where friends and family could gather to spend time together. With the help of our family and friends, we worked hard to come up with the name, our logo, and the shop design. This is our only shop at the moment, but we recently added a mobile unit so that we could take our yogurt out into the community!

Thanks to everyone who voted us ‘Best Frozen Yogurt’ ; it truly means a lot! We are grateful for all of the community support that we have received! We would also like to give a huge shout out to our amazing team members! They work hard to provide a welcoming environment for all our guests and I’m sure we would not have won this award without them!
What would you like people to know about your business?
Although we are predominately a frozen yogurt shop, we will be adding a new product lineup to our menu this fall. Our new Drink Shoppe counter will offer a variety of cold and hot drinks such as Bubble Teas, Lemon Shakeups, Slushies, specialty hot chocolates, and possibly some pour over coffee.

Studio b opened in late January 2014 and has quickly become a hot spot for dance instruction and fun group fitness classes. I grew up with a love of dance and a desire to someday own a studio. As an adult I also became interested in group fitness and through Studio b I am able to bring both of these passions together!
