With the advent of 2020 marking the 19th Amendment’s centennial anniversary, we celebrate the expanding cultural influence of women during the last 100 years with a series of exhibitions highlighting the myriad artistic styles and achievements of 20th- and 21stcentury women artists. On view this winter and spring are contemporary works from our permanent collection by trailblazing women sculptors, visionary art by Southern female artists and the conceptually challenging mixed media installations

FEMINIST FORMS Contemporary Sculpture from the Permanent Collection Noel and Kathryn Wadsworth Gallery
Battling to achieve success in the male-dominated artworld of the mid-twentieth century, groundbreaking sculptors like Dorothy Dehner, Beverly Pepper and Elizabeth Catlett came to exemplify the concurrent Women’s Liberation movement. Paving the way for subsequent generations, their works are joined in this exhibition by those of younger artists examining issues of the body, gender and sexuality.
