JCU Singapore is fully owned by James Cook University Australia. The university is ranked in the top 4%* of universities in the world. It established JCU Singapore in 2003 as part of its expressed intent of internationalising its activities and offers a suite of university level programs at the Singapore campus including Business, IT, Psychology and Education.
Additionally, JCU Singapore offers courses at the pre-university level, specifically designed to provide pathways for students who are unable to immediately meet university entrance standards. JCU Singapore campuses are located at Upper Thomson and at Ang Mo Kio. Both provide students with access to a full range of facilities and services to support their learning. These include lecture and seminar rooms, library and associated study facilities, computer laboratories, and access to a variety of sporting facilities. In order to ensure that students have ready access to LearnJCU, our technology based learning management system, all students are provided with an iPad** when they commence their course. JCU Inter-campus Mobility Program JCU Singapore provides the opportunity for students to study in Singapore and in Australia and yet still remain as Singapore based students paying their fees in Singapore currency. This is a unique program in Asia and is only able to operate because the university operates across both countries. Further, EduTrust also requires that the students must be covered under a medical insurance coverage which has provision for hospitalisation, surgery and treatment costs throughout their course duration. Career prospects Early childhood teachers work in schools, preschools and childcare centres. Our Bachelor of Education is an Australian approved teacher education program. Early childhood is a highly specialised field that focuses on the education of children from birth to age 8 with a special focus on Kindergarten, Prep and Years 1-3.

Master of Guidance and Counselling This course is accredited by the Australian Counselling Association (ACA) in Australia and in Singapore by the Singapore Association for Counselling (SAC), giving graduates the ability to pursue careers in both countries as well as internationally. This course embodies work skills to help students fulfil their professional and personal aspirations. Advanced Standing
The Master of Guidance and Counselling degree equips graduates with the skills, confidence and knowledge to become a professional counsellor in a variety of locations and settings.
Students may be granted advanced standing if, in addition to meeting the entry requirements, they have a minimum of two years full time relevant working experience.
Course Requirements • Each 3 credit point subject requires a minimum of 130 hours of study time per trimester including one 25-hour intensive contact block. • Practicum consists of 120 hours of practice (90 hours minimum faceto-face) over a period of 2 trimesters. • Practicum placement assistance is provided by the University

Graduate Certificate of Career Development This course is designed for those who want to work in career education, career guidance and career counselling. The Career Industry Council of Australia (CICA) has endorsed the Graduate Certificate of Career Development delivered by James Cook University as meeting the Professional Standards for Australian Career Development Practitioners. This course can also be completed in conjunction with the Master of Guidance and Counselling.
Career prospects Graduates will have a specialisation in career development counselling.

(Arts, Education and Social Sciences) The Graduate Certificate of Research Methods is for graduates from any discipline who do not have the appropriate research experience to meet the entry requirements for higher degree programs at James Cook University. This course gives graduates sufficient research experience to enter many postgraduate research programs at James Cook University.
Career prospects This program equips graduates with the skills and knowledge to progress to a Higher Degree by Research program.
