Magnificent Sculpted Glass Bloom
American artist Martin Blank creates exuberant figurative sculptures, flower blossoms, and monumental architectural installations in his Seattle hot shop, Martin Blank Studios. After earning a B.F.A. at the Rhode Island School of Design, Blank moved to Seattle and worked with Dale Chihuly before opening his own studio in the 1990s. He is known for teaching at the Pilchuck Glass School in Stanwood, WA and internationally. Martin Blank’s work is found in many prestigious places such as the World Trade Center Campus, New York, New York, as well as museums around the world including the Corning Museum of Glass, Corning, New York, the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, Massachusetts, the Museum of Glass, Tacoma, Washington, the Fort Wayne Museum of Art, Fort Wayne, Indiana, and others.
