I continue my journey with joining Communcation Team to initiate and engage Mapleton communities to learn and get more familiar with works that had been produced by Iowa State Landscape Architecture students into five teams; 1. Nature Play 2. Campground 3. Trailhead 4. Trail Extension 5. Walkability Communication team was responsible for many things such as; 1. Writing articles to be published for Mapleton newspaper 2. Creating electronic billboard design to be displayed in the city 3. Creating public library installation to promote works that had been done by Iowa State University 4. Designing flyers to be displayed in local restaurants 5. Organizing two design workshops to engage public preferences in design process First engagement workshop, the team created the flag systems and opinion based workshop. For second engagement workshop, the team designed business plan style of review where the reviewers got some money to be invested to the projects that they thought well deserved.

Design
Scope of Work Focusing on Commercial District Area starts from Ohio Ave to Palms Ave. The Site Intervention Area is two building of Vance Street Capital and Integrated Street Capital. Research study found that 750 feet is the most affected area from the pollution particles from cars that passed by the freeway. From the research, we decided to focus on 750 feet limit from the freeway with other reasons; 1. A study found cancer risk higher near freeway 2. Low levels particles from air pollution cause asthma attacks 3. Air pollution from busy roads linked to shorter life spans for nearby restaurants 4.Lung functions reduced among children living near traffic 5.People who live near Freeway exposed to 25 times more to particulate pollution.
