Dear Christ the King Community,

During this Advent season, we pause for a moment to reflect on and give thanks for the amazing blessings we continue to enjoy. For the 85th time, our school doors opened in August to start the school year, and we joyfully welcomed our new and returning students “home.” Like the rest of the country, we were cautiously optimistic the school year would return to “normal” after two years of severe disruptions. I am happy to report we have resumed all events and even added new opportunities to build our strongest asset: our community. While we continue to be wary of the pandemic, offer our prayers and support to families and individuals when they are impacted, and take steps to maintain the health and safety of our community, we are also moving forward thinking and growing every day.

As everyone returned to campus, they were greeted by a number of changes. Renovations in the basement were completed that included new flooring throughout most of the lower level. The Computer Lab was moved downstairs into a transformed space and now incorporates a Robotics Lab. The structure of the school day was modified to follow a bell schedule, standardizing each class and attempting to maximize the school day. Teaching assignments in the Middle School were adjusted to increase specialization, including the creation of a new Middle School English position. The Band room was also moved and is currently waiting for custom cabinetry to be installed to secure and store the band instruments.

We are so thankful to be part of such a special and blessed community and excited for all that is to come. We are forever grateful for the love and support each of you reading this edition of The Sceptre provides to Christ the King Church and School. Your prayers, willingness to volunteer, to bring forward special gifts and talents, and your financial support of our mission are evidence of the Holy Spirit’s activity in our lives and our community. May we all continue to hear the voice of God in our hearts and minds, and moreover, be willing to listen and follow His plan for us as we seek to build the Kingdom of God each day with our lives.

Sincerely in Christ, Mr. Alan Mila Principal Contents
