In New York City, Dr Mbabuike is a practicing physician Currently, most of his practice is spent managing and treating chronic pain, particularly severe arthritis. To treat orthopedic discomfort in the knees, shoulders, hips, back, and other areas, Dr Mbabuike offers non-surgical procedures. He keeps track of patients over time and creates custom regimens suited to each patient's requirements.

Dr. Mbabuike began his academic career in a prestigious accelerated B.S./M.D. program at City College of New York's Sophie Davis School of Medicine (now CUNY School of Medicine) This required deciding to study medicine after graduating from high school and entering college early in life as a senior high school.
The Cuny School of Medicine's Sophie Davis Biomedical Education Program aims to assist high-achieving high school students in pursuing an accelerated program created to solve shortages in the medical industry, particularly those of minority students.
Admission to this program calls for careful consideration of high school grades in all essential disciplines, including junior-year scientific courses, math test scores, and communications The program also examines volunteerism and character qualities, including motivation, compassion, and maturity. The competitive application procedure requires standardized exam results, a strong GPA, three essays, and five letters of recommendation
JeanJacques Mbabuike stood out in these areas and was chosen as one of the exclusive groups of 50–60 students admitted to the program each year He could enroll in a 7-year combined bachelor of science and medical doctorate degree because of this program. Dr Mbabuike completed his surgical residency training at several esteemed hospitals in the NYC area after graduating from the NYU School of Medicine, including New York Presbyterian Cornell, Westchester Medical Center, Lenox Hill, and Mount Sinai Beth Israel. Dr. Mbabuike had the opportunity to receive a broad education in both general and orthopedic surgery He participated in and published novel and advanced research projects, gaining rigorous and substantial clinical experience

The group expects that by making these efforts, more Black men will graduate from medical school and succeed in their careers. Dr. Mbabuike is motivated to carry out this essential work because it will help advance equity and equality in the medical industry
Dr. Mbabuike spends a lot of time working and volunteering for BMI but has a few distinct interests He has a strong love for sports and an active lifestyle Before the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, Dr. Mbabuike played in recreational basketball leagues for over 12 years.
