continue, vary sound and 'pitch' throughout (only through the bow: pressure, speed, amount of hairs etc.). The crescendo to the forte will not sound forte, but the 'tone' will appear out of the dark noise, and when going back to pianissimo, it'll go back to noise. Let the pitch fluctuate through the bowing.

Jeanne Artemis Strieder message II (2014, rev. 2019) for Viola Solo Original version comissioned by Sonic 3.0 Festival, Kopenhagen - Microtonal Accidentals -
- Bow Positioning -
This piece does not use quarter or eighth notes.
ord. s.p. m.s.p. a.s.p.
Instead, it uses 12th and 6th tones, which are derived from the differences between equal temperament and just intonation. Thus, this score is notated in equal temperament. Arrows mean inflections up or down (depending on the direction of the arrow) of 12th tones. One Arrow means approx. 16 Cents lower (about a 12th tone), equivalent to the difference between just and equal tempered minor third. Two Arrows mean approx. 33 Cents lower (about a 6th tone), equivalent to the difference between just and equal tempered septimal minor third. Examples:

Accidentals are given for any new note, even naturals. Accidentals are always valid for the whole system. However, some restating in paranthesis is given. But any note without accidental means to be the same pitch as before in the current bar.

fast and unrhythmised Tremolo trill between two notes reapeat the actions between the brackets very strong and noisy accent, where the attack has too low bow speed (resulting in low, noisy frequencies)
- General Notes This score is written in space notation. The durations of the notes are indicated through the graphical space between them on the paper. Each system lasts around 15 seconds.
- Harmonics For each harmonic: string, stop note, the resulting sound and the number of the harmonic are given.
- Duration ~6’30”
