The next few pages showcases my work with the international practice ‘Cracknell Design’ on a sports clubhouse and cafe located in Dubai, UAE. I worked in a small architectural design team as a designer and the lead Revit/BIM technician. I was in charge of concept design development working directly with clients fulfilling their requests as well as requests from the rest of the design team. As well as the architecture BIM I worked strongly on the final design presentation shown.

The next page showcases my own work for a large full service real estate company in Dubai, UAE. I was tasked to create high quality property marketing experience for a property on their listings. This task made full use of my 3D modelling and design representation skills as well as scripting and coding the interactive elements within the experience. This was all completed under a strict time-frame for the client.

This next few pages are showcasing work from my final year architecture masters degree project carried out at Oxford Brookes, Oxford school of architecture. The project builds on my own personal interest in how people move through spaces differently to one another and how we can design a space using peoples movements as a key design tool. ‘A Physical Linkedin’ - the project takes the main ideas of linkedin as an online networking platform (connecting professionals online) and manifest these into a built form. *Project Short-listed: RIBA South Student Prize 2019 Ackroyd Lowrie Prize 2019 Make Architects Prize 2019

The resulting research data identifies a good range of movement profiles within the different sites in Hong Kong. Each of these profiles has been de-constructed into a number of different categories and observations.

Fast but direct mobility

Low mobility (Elderly & Physically challenged)

Quick & agile mobility

Couple

Groups (3+)

Main observations: Theme Observations Confidence- Confident, knows where he is going. Agility - Quick to change direction, Adapt to obstacles Speed - (Moving Fast): 5m in 3.5 seconds = 1.4 M/s (Upstairs)

Main observations: Theme Observations Confidence- Confident, seems to know direction Agility - Not very agile, slow to change direction/adapt to obstacles/people Speed - (Slow Moving): 8m in 13 seconds = 0.6 M/s

Main observations: Theme Observations Confidence- Very confident, Knows space well. Agility - Adapts well to obstacles/people (Thoughtful to others) Speed - (Moving Quickly): 4m in 3.2 seconds = 1.25 M/s

Main observations: Theme Observations Confidence-Stop/star,t Seemingly inexperienced Agility -Take up larger area, however still seemingly agile, avoid obstacles. Speed -(Slow Moving): 2m in 4 seconds = 0.5 M/s (Upstairs)

Main observations: Theme Observations Confidence- Stopped interacting with location, (Photographs) Agility - Take up large area, uncoordinated as group (hard to navigate/avoid) Speed - N/A

Overview - Mobile (Direct nature)

Overview - Low mobility, stop start movements (Direct nature)

Overview - Very Mobile (Exploratory nature)

Overview - Low mobility, stop start movements (Direct nature)

The Digital Agent scripting and movement pattern examples for each personality identified.

The ‘Grasshopper’ Scripts Each of the movement personalities utilise the same base script that is then modified to help mimic their different movement traits (Velocity, Agility and confidence/Directness).

Movement personality build-up

The Digital Agents (Example scenario) Below is an example scenario showcasing how the created digital agents were observed reacting differently to an environment..The script used for these three agents is the same that is used in the larger simulations throughout the project. All that changes is the number of digital agents and their environment(Boundaries & POI’s etc).

Movement Personality 1 ‘Very Mobile (Exploratory nature)’

Direct and strong reaction to input area.

Strong reaction to input boundary (Change direction)

Speed agility directness Movement Personality 2 ‘Mobile (Direct nature)’

Environment Area where the agents can explore Inputs Different inputs that the agents react to. Could be a boundary that represents a feature space and when the agents pas into that boundary they react differently.

Input boundary: Settings of agents mean they react differently to the input boundary that they enter.

Movement Personality 3 ‘The Elderly Professional’ Trajectory = Little to no reaction from input boundary

Movement Personality 1 ‘Very Mobile (Exploratory nature)’

Results/Observations: • Less exploratory & very direct

Movement Personality 3 ‘Less mobile (Direct nature)’ Results/Observations: • Direct but slow steady pace

Results/Observations: • Very exploratory and varying speeds
