NORTH CAROLINA
AGRICULTURAL AND TECHNICAL STATE UNIVERSITY www.ncat.edu
Greetings Aggie Family and Friends,
Welcome home to Aggieland for yet another year of remarkable celebrations at the Greatest Homecoming on Earth! We always enjoy the return of our alumni and look forward to this time as an opportunity to reflect on our experiences, reconnect with our classmates and show support to our alma mater.
Our university is experiencing growth and development at a faster pace than ever before. We are the largest HBCU for a ninth consecutive year. With more than 60,000 alumni around the globe and counting, North Carolina A&T’s impact grows every year. We are proud to know that our present students will one day join the ranks of illustrious alumni who make vital contributions to the communities where we live, work and serve.
As we move ever closer toward the ambitious goals expressed in our strategic plan A&T Preeminence: Taking the Momentum to 2023 we are becoming ever more competitive as a comprehensive, land grant, doctoral higher research university, as illustrated by outstanding outcomes and a growing profusion of national rankings. We are among the top three public research universities in the University of North Carolina (UNC) System for more than a decade. We rank No. 1 among all HBCUs in Washington Monthly’s College Guide, and are rated among the top 40 national universities in Social Mobility and top 50 in Innovation in U.S. News & World Report’s “Best Colleges 2022.” Perhaps most importantly to our alumni, our graduates earn more in their early careers than those of all but two other institutions in the UNC system early in their careers.
These are remarkably exciting times at North Carolina A&T. We have experienced many reasons to be proud of our university. We acknowledge that the generosity with which many of our alumni and friends have supported the university has fueled our success. We thank you for your contributions and honor your commitment to our institution. There is still much work to be done.
As you soak in the energy and enthusiasm of Homecoming, we encourage you to take time to consider how you can contribute to our alma mater’s ongoing advancement. We need your time, talent and resources to continue the impactful work of the institution in East Greensboro, North Carolina, and the world beyond. We invite you to volunteer, engage and donate because that’s what Aggies Do!
With Aggie Pride,
Harold L. Martin, Sr., Ph.D. ’74, ‘76 Chancellor
96TH HOMECOMING CELEBRATION 3
A LAND GRANT UNIVERSITY and A CONSTITUENT INSTITUTION of THE UNIVERSITY of NORTH CAROL
Dear Alumni and Friends,
Welcome home for the 96th celebration of the Greatest Homecoming on Earth!
Homecoming at North Carolina A&T State University is an experience unlike any other. It is a time to reconnect with old friends, classmates and reminisce about the days you roamed the campus as a student. As you wrap yourselves with that good ol’ Aggie spirit prepare yourselves for the many exciting activities that will inform, connect and entertain you.
During your visit I invite you to experience the transformation physical and intellectual of our beloved alma mater; especially with the opening of the new Harold L. Martin Sr. Engineering Research and Innovation Complex, and the recently named Speight Hall and Monroe Hall Whether this is your first time returning to campus or this is your 50th visit to campus, you will be proud of all of the improvements to make N.C. A&T the institution of choice for higher education.
None of this progress would be possible without you. It is through your ongoing commitment of your time, talent and treasures that A&T is able to provide the programs and amenities that enrich the lives of countless students.
As you participate in this year’s festivities I encourage you to take the time to share the legacy of Aggie Pride with our students and what it means to you. Because that’s what Aggies DO!
With Much Aggie Pride,
Teresa M. Davis, ‘89 Associate Vice Chancellor for Alumni Relations

Re: Homecoming Safety
It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University Homecoming 2022 This year brings another year of excitement. The University will host several events, both on and off campus, during the week. On Saturday, Oct. 29, our Aggies will take on Campbell University for an exciting football game, including other events that will bring an estimated crowd of more than 50,000. I want to take this opportunity to list a few expectations, as well as highlight some safety tips for consideration, during your visit to our campus and the surrounding area.
You Can Expect
1. A significant amount of road closures on and around the university.
2. A significant number of patrons and visitors, on foot, frequenting Truist Stadium, core university campus, and adjacent streets surrounding the university.
3. Increased security and police presence, on campus and throughout the area, to facilitate a safe environment for all patrons.
Safety Tips & Measures
Please follow all CDC and University recommendations and guidelines regarding COVID-19 and Monkeypox.
Always keep your identification on your person at all times.
Walk in groups, and in well-lit areas when moving about at night.
Do not carry large amounts of cash on your person; do not flash your money.
Those who participate in the consumption of alcohol, drink responsibly. The legal age limit for alcohol possession and consumption is 21.
Beware of individuals attempting to lure you into playing Three-Card Monte. This is a game of chance designed to separate you from your money. You cannot win!
There are 52 emergency phones, located on campus for your use should you experience an emergency.
Download the SafeZone app for N.C. A&T to assist with your personal safety needs.
Dial 911 for emergencies you may experience or contact the University Police Department for assistance at (336) 334-7675.

THINK SAFETY
North Carolina A&T State University Police Department partners with the Greensboro Police Department and other law enforcement agencies during Homecoming to provide a safe and secure environment for all.
While we understand that Homecoming is an exciting time for celebrating with friends and colleagues, we would like to remind attendees to THINK SAFETY FIRST!
Events and festivities that attract large crowds also tend to attract crime. We want to provide Homecoming attendees with simple steps that will protect their person and their valuables during this time. As you coordinate your activities with friends for each event, THINK SAFETY FIRST, and include these safety measures in your plans.
HEALTH & WELLNESS
• Masks are recommended in large groups
• Keep hand sanitizer on hand.
FIRSTHAVE A PLAN
• Select your events and purchase tickets in advance.
• Designate drivers for each activity.
• Park in well-lit parking areas and write down where you parked.
• Stick together. Never travel alone. Leave with the group you came with.
• Make sure you have telephone numbers for those in your group.
KNOW YOUR LIMIT
• Be responsible. Do not consume alcohol if you are younger than 21.
• If you are of legal age to consume alcohol, drink responsibly.
• Do not accept open container drinks from strangers.
• Designate drivers who have agreed not to consume any alcohol or call a friend for transportation.
• Be mindful of police checkpoints and plan accordingly.
• Remember, N.C. law prohibits the operation of a motor vehicle while drinking or under the influence of alcoholic beverages.
BE AWARE
96TH HOMECOMING CELEBRATION 12
• Know your surroundings. Be aware of what is going on around you.
• Take notice of street names, parking signs and landmarks.
• If you suspect you are being followed, cross the street, change direction or go to a place where others are standing. Remember that people use high traffic/crowded events as a time to commit crimes.
• If you are confronted by someone trying to victimize you, do not be a hero. Get a good description and call police.
PROTECT YOUR VALUABLES
• Keep personal identification on you at all times and limit the amount of cash and credit cards you carry with you.
• Secure cell phones and electronic devices properly when not in use.
• Keep handbags closed when not accessing contents.
• Secure all valuable items in the trunk of your vehicle. Do not leave valuables visible in your car.
DON’T GET CAUGHT OFF GUARD
• Be mindful. Do not let the festive atmosphere catch you off guard.
• Beware of ticket scalpers. Purchase all event tickets from the A&T Ticket Office and approved ticket venues.
• Beware of the Three Card Monte card scam that allows a group of people to work together to take/scam/swindle large sums of money from participants.
• Avoid displaying large sums of money.
