The College of Architecture and the Built Environment and several other programs partnered with Jefferson Health’s Center for Autism and Neurodiversity (CAN) to produce the interactive installation “Synesthesia.”
A team of our industrial design and architecture students and faculty worked on concepts for Sheba Medical Center’s “City of Health” initiative in Israel.
Our fashion designers and textile designers routinely collaborate to create unique collections, such as Ocean Awakening.
Pharmacy and visual communication design students worked together to produce materials to educate and inform rural communities about diabetes prevention and management.
More than 400 students and faculty from across all levels of our health programs came together to serve our community through the Jefferson Student COVID Volunteer Initiative.
Our occupational therapy students worked with visual communication design students to create a new kind of cookbook for individuals with intellectual disabilities.
We offer more than 160 academic programs at all levels of study from bachelor’s degrees to postdoctoral studies. So, why should that matter to you?
The diversity of programs across areas of excellence gives you perspective. The industries of tomorrow will be led by those who know how to work across disciplines. More available programs of study mean more opportunities to collaborate with students and faculty outside your major. It’s your chance to stretch your thinking and strengthen your resume. And the depth of our programs gives you resources. Are you ready to apply for your PhD in biomedical sciences today? Probably not. But will the research, facilities and discoveries from that advanced program support and inform your experience in our undergraduate biology and biochemistry majors? Absolutely.

The number of programs gives you options. It’s not uncommon for an aspiring architect to discover a passion for industrial design after taking a single intro course (or vice versa). Our range of programs gives you the ability to explore multiple areas of study.

For us, excellence is both the honor we’ve earned and our promise to you.
Start with excellence. Then go beyond.
We know everyone says they’re good. But we’ve got the receipts. Our academic programs are internationally recognized. Want to know who has one of the top fashion design programs in the world? It’s us. You know whose architecture students are designing award– winning sustainable housing on the other side of the globe—as undergrads? Ours are. Guess whose roots in medicine, health and science education go back to 1824. Yup. Us again. And that tradition of excellence is reflected in the faculty who give you the benefit of their experiences as industry leaders and educators. Of course a shelf full of awards means nothing if we can’t pass some of that excellence on to you. This is where it gets good. From day one, you’ll be treated as a professional in your field, with opportunities to collaborate on real-world industry projects alongside your peers from all over the University, across programs of study. No matter what you pursue as your major, you’ll study curiosity, creativity and innovation as you create what’s next. You’ll graduate with the kind of experience that sets you apart. You won’t need to hit the ground running, because you’ll have been running on the ground since your first year. You’ll know the course, set the pace and be miles ahead of the competition. We have created one of the largest and most effective ‘idea development’ centers in the United States. From across Jefferson, we have brought together an enormous number of highly trained, creative, engaged professionals—people who can solve problems, address new opportunities and bring novel perspectives to long-running debates. Together, we are turning hopes into ideas, ideas into action and action into concrete results. MICHAEL J. LEONARD DEAN, SCHOOL OF DESIGN & ENGINEERING

Graphic design—I’m going to change people’s lives!’ but this school has changed my perception of life and the way I look at the world. Jefferson taught me to speak up when things need to be changed, and if I need to ask questions, to ask questions. I’m a more confident person, a confident designer, a confident leader. It’s influenced me to be more empathetic, to be human centered, and to really care about collaboration. I’m changing lives every day.”
