structural gear All products within Ricochet’s structural gear line are integrated results of our Maximum Mobility™ (M²) series.
Ricochet has examined all critical areas of binding and discomfort that have plagued firefighters for years in turnout gear designs. This includes points such as hem rise, sleeve migration, bulky collars, and crotch and knee restrictiveness. We have developed, with input from many firefighters, cutting edge technology with ergonomic engineering that works with the dynamics of the body. The result is our own internally engineered M² design, providing maximum mobility with a greater range of motion and comfort than any other turnouts on the market. Our patterns are engineered to reduce muscle fatigue, hobbling, heat stress, and are designed to provide fit, comfort, and mobility throughout all three layers of your turnout gear. At Ricochet, we put in the extra effort to give you the extra security and confidence you deserve. All sewn seams of the barrier component of each garment are heat-welded, using specially designed equipment. This
process ensures the integrity of the barrier, allowing performance levels that exceed the specific and exacting requirements of NFPA standards. Ricochet uses GORE-SEAM® tape, the most durable waterproof seam tape available, to seal all the tiny sewing holes in CROSSTECH® components of our garments. Manufacturing and Testing: NFPA certification is only where we start! Ricochet manufactures all personal protective equipment (PPE) in an ISO 9001 certified facility in Philadelphia, PA. To exceed NFPA standards, Ricochet garments undergo numerous tests designed to guarantee durability and effectiveness of the shells, barriers, and liners under extreme conditions the PPE may be subjected to in the field. As tough as the NFPA standards can be, creating PPE that is just “good enough” to meet the NFPA certification is not good enough for us. That’s why we at Ricochet engineer PPE that goes above and beyond the requirements of NFPA 1999, 1951 and 1971.
