SUMMARY REVIEW (required - not more than 200 words - for authors and Editorial Board) The authors are offering a counterintuitive approach to sustainability science, with well elaborated assessment tools for global comparative analysis and regional ‘mapping’. Logarithmic decomposition, like in the applied measurement of carbon management, is used to assess the weight of involved environmental factors. The cyclical (non-linear) model implies a (‘chaotic’) predator-prey-dynamics which is complemented by an economic framework of capitalist macro dynamics. From this viewpoint, the comparison of regional data sets can help to better understand the ‘cyclical dynamics of sustainability’ in modern capitalist societies and their driving impact factors for ‘eco-logical’ growth.
EDITORIAL BOARD NOTES (optional - not more than 50 words - for Editorial Board only): The systems dynamics of sustainability in capitalist economies may indeed follow regional (cyclical) patterns which are governed by certain and dominant key factors.
SUGGESTIONS AND IDEAS FOR AUTHORS TO IMPROVE OR EXTEND THEIR WORK: Would be interesting to include the debt level (private/public) of a national economy or the quantity of rent (in relation to wages and interest) as (regional) indicator of economic systems entropy.
