Guide to Fit a Landscape Page into a Portrait File
Guide to Fit a Landscape Page into a Portrait File
It is easy to alter the orientation of the whole Word document. But it becomes messy when you desire to change the orientation of a single page or a few pages within the document file. In this direction, you can insert the wide graph or table or horizontal picture of landscape page layout into the portrait oriented document. In Microsoft Word, you can either fit section that splits manually at the top and the bottom of the page that you desire to alter its orientation. Even you can choose text and permit Microsoft Word to insert the new sections to you.
You can fit a section break at the starting of the area which you want to rotate, by given steps:
Choose the “Page Layout” tab and press the “Breaks” pull-down menu in the “Page Setup” section. Choose “Next Page” under the section of “Section Breaks”. Repeat the aforesaid steps at the end of the area that you desire to rotate. Launch the “Page Setup” details window by pressing the small arrow placed in the lower right corner of the section. Press the “Margins” tab and choose “Portrait/Landscape” (as per your choice for the result) within the “Orientation section”.
You can also let the Microsoft Word decide for inserting the section breaks by saving mouse clicks, but Word will position the section breaks where it determines that it should be. You can look at the section breaks and other formatting elements which are hidden, through visiting the “Home” tab in the “Paragraph” section and pressing the “Show/Hide” option. The difficulty arises while letting Word decide where to place your section breaks when you choose a text. If you don’t highlight the whole paragraph, images, tables, others then Microsoft Word passes the unselected items onto another page. You should be vigilant while selecting the elements that you desire in the new changed layout orientation.
