Case Study

The forest of gir contains large area of grazing fields which provides appropriate living condition for the semi-sedentary and sedentary maldharis. Their settlement called ‘Ness’ form a typical house type which also houses the cattle with human habitat. House form and settlement pattern which is derived through the lifestyle within a forest gives a strong character to architecture. Living in harmony with nature adds to the character.
