LOOKING
JANUARY 2 0 1 8
January is the perfect time to sit down and make a list of business goals for the new year. Whether you want to take the leap with a new startup or are looking to grow your existing business, planning out what you want to accomplish can help you stay motivated and on task all year.
WHERE IS YOUR BUSINESS GOING IN THE
Start by asking yourself how you feel about your business. Look back at 2017 and identify the areas where you were successful and the areas that weren’t.
Don’t neglect yourself while you are mapping out your plan. Build in ‘me’ time, family time, vacations, and all that jazz. Consider your business ‘me’ time too! Evaluate what aspects of your business cause the most stress, and look for ways to automate tasks or outsource to create more time for you while working. Then you can focus on growing and making money!
Next, think about where you want to be and what you want to accomplish. Now is the time for you to set the mark and define where you and your business are going in 2018!
New Year
Finally decide, how you are going to show up for your business? Will it be a couple of times a week, daily? Creating achievable goals will help keep you motivated because each time you meet one you’ll know you can go even farther. Placing your goals within a timeframe helps you stay on task and update your approach throughout the year. Cheers to 2018!
Everyone has a story, share yours!

Genuine content - it’s what social media giants like Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter want. So much so that in mid-December, Facebook began demoting individual posts from people and Pages that use repetitive tactics to get people to engage with their content, such as using language that says “LIKE this if you were born in June,” “SHARE this if you are a stay at home mom,” etc.
do so, it’s assigned teams to review and categorize hundreds of thousands of posts that can better inform a machine-learning model to detect when pages post things just for the “like,” share or comment.
Facebook also says that in the coming weeks it will apply “stricter demotions” in the newsfeed for Pages that repeatedly use these types of posts as it goes “against one Why it matters: Facebook is of our key News Feed values trying to clean up the spam - authenticity,” according to that has gamed its newsfeed their blog post. algorithm. Consider your content before you post along with your wording. Give video posts a try. Remember that posts that ask people for help, advice, or recommendations, will generally bypass the new filter. You should make sure you are posting original content - don’t continually share and re-share things that other consultants have posted on your main page. These will quickly get flagged as spammy posts and will not be effective. Upload original content, and create truly engaging statements. Don’t ask for a like or a share - but something that will genuinely engage your audience in conversation. Your posts will be recognized as authentic content, and not spam, and will float to the top of newsfeeds all over Facebook land!

SAVING FOR CONFERENCE Decide your budget, break it down, and start saving! There are a lot of ways you can do this - some consultants get really creative with it! • You could add an extra party to your schedule each month and earmark commission from that party. • Use the commission you earn the month prior to conference to cover your

expenses. While a little riskier, especially if you have an off month, but it’s doable. • Do the tried and true $50 a week in the cookie tin method. Whether you have an extra party or simply stick the random $20 in a cookie tin by budgeting and developing a plan ahead, you will help to ensure you have a stressfree, paid for conference.

Hostess of the Month Six extraordinary women, a passion for Thirty-One, and a consistent purchasing pattern of at least $100 a month - what do those three things add up to? A Hostess of the Month Club! Most of us have played with this “party without a party” type scenario - some of us have used them consistently for years with tremendous success. In fact, there are some directors who successfully manage multiple instances of these clubs each season (or acros multiple seasons) simultaneously. What if you tweaked the formula just a bit and offered it by invitation only. Not just a mass posting to your customer group - hey ladies, who wants to join. Instead, mail a handwritten invitation that asks them to be a part of a very posh, exclusive group. Call attention to the fact that they were carefully selected to be a part of this group based on their history as your customer and that you appreciate them and their loyalty.

sweeten the deal - maybe it is free personalization during their month as Hostess or an extra reward, like lunch with you or a $5 gift card to their favorite coffee shop.
Could you scale this concept up or down? Sure! Could you tweak the dollar amount they agree to purchase each month? Absolutely!
You could do anything you want with the concept - tweak until your hearts content! The idea is that you need to not only maintain the sales channels that are proven and work consistently, but you also need to be thinking outside the bubble and developing new ways to broaden your base and your reach. The exclusivity of this variation of the Hostes of the Month Club concept might be just what you need to add an additional $600 party to your regular monthly sales intake. Hmmmm.....what if you asked 12 women rather than 6 - that’s a $1,200 party!
What if that invitation also Maybe we should tweak some included various perks to more!
