Kaiseki Teahouse Senior Thesis Âť Summer Quarter 2012 *Project currently still in progress Kaiseki is intended to be an educational force about Japanese tea and cuisine to the people of the Oakley community. They wish to create a passion and appreciation for cultures other than their own and to know what practices make the Japanese culture so historic and special. It is human nature to bond over food whether it may just be a work lunch or a first date or a night out with friends. Kaiseki understands this and will work to create a unique experience for every guest that will not only help people bond with each other but also with their food and the knowledge of culture they gain by dining at the establishment. For the summer quarter our focus was primarily on developing the project program and beginning phases on spatial planning and material exploration. The project is currently still in project and will be completed for the DAAPWorks presentation on April 22, 2013.

Sephora Orchard Road Retail Design Âť Autumn Quarter 2011 Sephora sponsored the 15th annual PAVE student design competition for which this pop-up retail shop was created. Singapore's world-famous Orchard Road is a shopping mecca and home to the second-largest Sephora store in the world which makes it an ideal site for a semi-temporary Sephora shop. The purpose of the pop-up shop is to act as a learning experience for those unfamiliar with the Sephora brand, providing services that captivate the consumer and lure them to the larger Sephora stores for their future needs. Âť Sephora Orchard Road was also submitted to the 35th annual SOURCE Awards National Lighting Design Competition sponsored by Cooper Lighting, and the project received an Honorable Mention award. My work was on display at both the SOURCE Awards gala and Lightfair in Las Vegas

Monte Carlo High-Roller Suite & Cigar Lounge Hospitality Design Âť Autumn Quarter 2010 The Monte Carlo Casino is located in Las Vegas and is the site of the Cigar Lounge and High-Roller Suite created for our hospitality design project. The Cigar Lounge, VIP dining and floor lobby designs were a group collaboration, inspired by the glitz and glam of the 1920's jazz age. The VIP suite concept was to create a "Bachelor Pad" ambiance with many activities suitable to the highroller bachelor's interests while in Vegas. Group credit Âť Kayla Reinbold

Totes Corporate Office Office Design Âť Spring Quarter 2010 Totes is a Cincinnati-based umbrella company whose corporate office is located in Downtown Cincinnati. The office serves as a research facility, work and conference space. For the Totes facility I wanted to embrace the materiality and form of the physical umbrella and design in a way that the spatial planning and chosen materials would reflect the characteristics of the umbrella. Metal fixtures and fabric partitions communicate the materials found on an umbrella while the shape of the umbrella influences the spatial parti.

Co-op Work

FRCH Design Worldwide Interior Design Intern Âť Cincinnati, Ohio June - September 2011, January - June 2012, August - December 2012 During my co-op experience at FRCH in Cincinnati, a large firm specializing in a variety of project types, I worked in the Specialty Design and Department Stores studios. "Jennifer was willing to take on challenges and eager to learn and be a part of the team." "Jennifer was given the same responsibilities as a Junior Designer and performed well. She continued to try new things and ask questions." -Mike Daly, Design Director Project Experience: Disney-Shanghai Hershey's Moosejaw Steak 'n' Shake McAlister's Deli Jollibee First Financial Bank Dick's Sporting Goods Macy's Liverpool JCP

While I was part of the Specialty Design team I was involved in a variety of projects but was primarily part of the Disney design team. I was responsible for selecting all of the materials for the retail space and was solely responsible for designing the party room and selecting all finishes for that space.

For Hershey's Kisses Experience, I played a large role in selecting materials including paint colors, decorative fixtures and special materials, and I also helped with renderings for the project.

During my time in Specialty Design I also spent much of my time on the Moosejaw design team. I played a large role in selecting materials, furniture, and fixtures for the project and writing the specifications. I had a small part in rendering for the project presentations.

My time spent in the Department Stores studio revolved heavily on the re-planning of several JCPenney's stores. This project had many phases which included a master plan of the aisles and merchandizable pads, the JCP Home department space planning and fxture planning for the new Joe Fresh shops.

While I worked on St. Regis Abu Dhabi I had several different roles. I was mainly responsible for the Sky Bridge Suite within the hotel and for that suite I was responsible for space planning, composing presentations and designing some detail work including the railing motif to the left.

While working on the Hyatt Regency Changbaishan project I was largely responsible for selecting material finishes, composing presentation boards for the client and doing some space planning for the public spaces within the resort.
