A program that prepares helpers to identify persons with thoughts of suicide and connects them to appropriate resources. Most people with thoughts of suicide, either directly or indirectly, invite help to stay safe. This training brings to light these invitations and guides participants on how to help protect life. I am the proud mother of two girls .
Karen Hoekwater teaches fourth grade at Lincoln Elementary. I grew up in Cadillac, and after living away for a few years I returned to raise my family. Karen challenges her students with innovative curriculum and strategies often bringing in technology. Dan Smith, the executive director of the YMCA. Smith came to Cadillac from Living Waters Ministries and Michi-Lu -Ca Conference Center and Camp in Fairview. Smith also has years of experience with Habitat for Humanity, where he was a national director in Fiji.
Russ Helsel, graduated from Ferris State University. Worked in Muskegon Public Schools for 2 years. I am a first grade teacher at Franklin. I have two children and my hobbies include hunting, fishing & grading. Sally Repeck, the executive director of OASIS– Family Resource Center in Cadillac, Michigan which has grown into a comprehensive shelter and counseling program as well as the owner of a resale store, Second Chance.
