What I love most about the design process are the human connections. While I enjoy developing a custom stair detail, sketching a lighting layout, or the tactile experiment of arranging material concepts, it always comes back to the working relationships with people. Whether it’s contractors who share my passion for design and quality, team members who relieve the stress of an intense studio day with a great laugh, or artists who inspire me through their work, that is why I love this business.
But if you were to ask me what is the game changer - the critical variable that makes a great project - without question that is our relationships with our clients. While a project absolutely takes team - and ours is a great one that works tirelessly - our best projects are the ones where we naturally connect with our clients. This is why we focus on providing outstanding service and value on every job for every client. Amy is an assimilator. Our coastal correspondent - from the west coast, living on the east coast, and working in the middle - Amy brings the latest research, developments, and innovations to our Michigan design studio. Amy is the media channel that keeps our followers in tune with all the happenings, musings and discussions taking place at JBID. Her decade of architectural experience bring a holistic wide-lens perspective to interior design and dialogue.
Chelsea is a creative. A graduate of Kendall College of Art and Design, a natural illustrator and a maker, Chelsea’s interior design influence is balanced in artistry and practice. Her poise and calm under pressure are qualities loved by both clients and her colleagues. Chelsea guides clients in making wise design decisions with confidence. She loves to experiment, take on new challenges, is always looking forward and driven to make interiors better.
Andy is a confidant. An award-winning designer, he is a graduate of Indiana University and Harrington College, beginning his career in Chicago’s luxury residential design market. A detail-oriented organizer, his clients appreciate his project management skills, honesty and advocacy on their behalf. Andy likes bold decorative accents and is inspired by global cultures from his many travels abroad. Here at home in Grand Rapids, he is active on the Board of ASID Michigan and Habitat for Humanity Kent County.

2 Make A Plan & Design We give your project legs by meeting on site, hearing your objectives, and identifying the framework for your scope, budget and time constraints. We can guide the selection of a project team or work with an existing one, meeting and coordinating with key team players. From there, we engage in a collaborative process of interior architecture and interior design development that honors all the information you’ve shared thus far. When design is complete, final documentation is distributed for implementation. •
