Occupation And Compromise “As an architect, what I really care about is using the tools of architectural design to solve non-architectural problems. The problem I'm trying to solve should benefit everyone, even those on the street. Use design as a tool to solve things outside of design, because 'design' has more power outside of design.”This is the definition of the responsibilities of an architect by the famous Chilean architect Alejandro Aravena, and is also what I have been pursuing to become an architect. First, the complete design runs though the clear logic, which leads from the initial design to the final application. The logic can be gradually revealed under the condition that the designer has a deep understanding of the site information, social background and service crowd. Through various responses to problems in different periods, relatively natural results are gradually showed out, the range form structure to material. Rooted in the site and the surrounding environment, the sound design provides users with comfortable space experience. Second, the development of space cannot do without the replacement of materials, the maturity of structural technology and the progress of construction methods. Architectural designers should not only stay on the concept and paper, but also be the general coordinator in real production to find a reasonable way of construction. They are expected to cooperate with craftsmen and interact with environment and users after completion. Third, complex historical and cultural issues should be responded actively. Many cities in China are gradually converging in appearance during the process of modernization, but the differences in following area: geography, transportation, culture, natural resources as well as collective memory of generations cannot be wiped out. Each city still has its own context and soul. Architectural design should actively respond to and respect these problems, and use creative methods to connect the past and point to the future.
As far as I’m concerned, good architecture is not only the result of proficient professional technology, it is more like the art of time carving. The design process is inseparable from the accumulation of architect's life experience. The thinking of internal and external, nature and architecture, self and society will run through the whole life.

Study on the Transformation And Renovation of Regional Buildings Designer: Han Jing Duration: 2019/8-2019/10 Topic: Architectural renovation is one of the themes of architectural design. Traditional regional architecture is the wisdom crystal of local people featured by local context, saving resources and energy consumption, that adapt to the regional environment and climate. This project attempts to tap the traditional ecological potential of regional architecture, combining with modern architectural technology, providing new space mode to meet the contemporary needs, and realize the renovation of regional architecture.
Abandoned caves
The project is located in Yixing village, Wangyi subdistrict office, Tongchuan City, north of Xi'an City, 90km away from Xi'an city. In terms of geology, local architecture is famous for its cave dwelling shaped by the Tundra in Loess Plateau in the north of Weihe River.
The new village is located at the high altitude, with flat terrain, which main cultivated land and houses are distributed.

The craftsman make full decision on the selection of the rammed earth to be used for building. The structural performance of the arch is affected by the soil quality. When the arch spacing is close to the span of the arch, the thermal insulation performance is the best.
Stone is a semi artificial material, and its structural per formance is more stable than rammed earth arch. Therefore, the rise-span ratio, arch spacing and arch crown height all have fixed data.

Lost of World Cultural Heritage
Recycle, Religion & Rebirth
Temporary House Design after Earchquake in Nepal Designer: Han Jing Duration: 2017/11-2018/1 Topic: Nepal got great damage after the earthquake happened in April 25th. Many people lost their home. We hope to give them psychological rehabilitation during the reconstruction process of their home. The building group set religion and public activities in the center area. We use bamboo and wasted material as the main to reduce the cost.
Lost of Family
Lost of Home
We need to build HOPE and FUTURE.

People who have faith in Hinduism believe that there is a life cycle and rebirth. If the person does good karma, he will get a better birth and if he commits sin he will get a worse birth. We hope that our temporary architecture can help to connect the devout Nepali with their gods, especially in the difficult time of reconstruction. So we chose the Sahasrara as the symbol, also called white lotus, which is located either at or slightly above the top of the head, to construct our buildings.
DESIGN PROCESS Traditional tent camps are lack of communication and recreation center. And they cannot meet the basic needs of people's life.
SECTION & FUNCTION The victims live around the public and religious space which is a ring form settlement with a public center. It helps them rebuild their home and their faith at the same time.
Slope roof are designed to meet the requirement of Nepal local weather so that it can guide the rain to flow outward and collect them.
Based on the functions and circulation in the site, we design different scales of spaces and corridors.
We use bamboo as the main structure and collect wasted tyres and rocks to build foundations. It will reduce the budget and be built easily and fast.

DETAIL DESIGN
CONSTRUCTION PROCESS
STEP1: Fill Φ600mm recycling tyres with wasted rocks and stack every two tyres as the foundations of the columns.
STEP2: Integrate four bamboo bars into one column and insert the column into the foundation. Fix the column and foundation with high-strength gypsum (ym-p).
STEP3: Use manila ropes to connect the intersections of bamboo bars to build the roof structure.
STEP4: Use manila ropes to connect the intersections of bamboo bars to build the keels of the floor.
STEP5: Put bamboo board on the keels and use tapping screws to fix it.
STEP6: Use tent cloth as the wall and ceiling of the interior and tapping screws fixing it.
STEP7: Use thatch as the outer cover of the roof for heat insolation and connect it on the roof structure with manila ropes.
STEP8: After the house is built, add some funiture and facilities.

COUNTING DOWN In our project, “special day” is not considered as a celebration of the whole day but a special moment that is, counting down moment. We just take the plan of what is happenging at that special moment into consideration. As for time dimension, we imagine that most of the people along the Haihe River have certain pattern of activities at a certain time- waiting before zero point, screaming when 00:00:00 comes and then celebrating after that. Although people along the Haihe River differ from ages, occupation and places, the hebavior of them are similar when counting down begins.

Theater design this project is a comprehensive class a theater with 1200 auditoriums. It is located at the intersection of the two main transportation lines, south of the park and quiet residential area, north of the bustling business district. In order to coordinate with the surrounding site, the roof park is formed by slope, and the rigid form of auditorium is minimized.
Beilin city research base is a historical block with complex changes. The original residence here is a historical witness and participant, which is equivalent to a "living history book". Therefore, the appropriate means to revive the block are needed to ensure the living proportion of the original residents, improve their living conditions and deepen their relationship with the block.
