Highgate Cemetery

Camley Street Nature Park

Chelsea Physic Garden

It Opening in 1839, it is one of the oldest graveyards and also London's most famous. There's over 170,000 people in 53,000 graves which is why there is a West, and East part of Highgate for you to explore however, the most impressive part (West) is only available to look around by a guided tour. The West cemetery has a picturesque chapel, chilling catacombs and much more to marvel at. People travel from far and wide to visit graves of people such as Karl Marx, George Eliot and Christina Rossetti. If you are looking for a place to spend a gloomy, yet peaceful day, this graveyard should really be on your list. It is a perfect place to reflect on the beauty of life and death whilst also surrounded by overgrown, untouched nature.

A stone's throw away from Kings Cross and St Pancras station, this park is perfect to pop in and get your daily dose of nature. It's a cute oasis hidden between two busy railway stations, but despite it's size, it is still a haven for wildlife, such as frogs, bats, kingfishers and more. There is now also a new addition to the park which is a floating platform on the Regent's Canal that allows you to look out at the area, and perhaps have a sunbathe or a picnic if the weather permits it. Camley Street Nature Park is definitely a space for all kinds of people, especially children as there is a small education centre right near the entrance. Your children will be filled with tiny nuggets of wildlife knowledge once you leave this quaint, charming place.

Founded by the worshipful Society of Apothecaries in 1673, this is the second oldest garden of its kind in the whole of England. Not only is Chelsea Psychic Gardens beautiful to look at, it holds the oldest rock gardens in Europe, which is comprised of bricks, flint, stones from the Tower of London, and Icelandic lava brought up the Thames by ship in 1772. It has a cute herb garden with medicinal and culinary plants, glasshouses, rare plants and the largest outdoor olive tree in Britain. There is so much to be seen in this 3 and a half-acre garden that sits peacefully near the busy Thames; it is not too big, but not too small. Chelsea Physic Garden is just right for a short day out.

A second Veggie Pret A Manger is now open on Great Eastern Street, Shoreditch.

Or is it because there has not been a mainstream documentary released exposing the ugly side of Zoo life? On the other hand, it would have been almost impossible to gather the knowledge that we now have of animals if we purely studied them in the wild – and the more people know about animals, the more we are able to help them.
