Flowers continue to be THE subject of choice when it comes to my work. They hold an allure that goes beyond words. The change of season set a familiar, reassuring tempo and the return of the blooms feel like a visit from old friends.
When given as a gift, flowers convey love and care and have the most remarkable ability to bring joy and conjure memories.
I hadn’t thought of that lovely room for years until I decided to include a series of hydrangeas in my collection. But with so many colour options in hydrangeas where should I start and then it came to me. That beautiful colour scheme of pinks and greens – and so the first in my nostalgic hydrangea series is titled ‘Katina’
I hope you enjoy this year’s journey into flowers of past and present gardens. specific colours that remind me of flowers. Let me explain. In my high school years, I spent many happy hours at my best friend’s house. Her mum had a wonderful eye for colour and interiors. I loved the pale pink silk cushions resting on her olive lounge.
