Control aquatic weeds with Jenson Lake Mower tool

The proliferation of water hyacinth is not a bad thing, if you only want to talk about the visuals. While it’s true that the sea of lavender and green gives a certain calmness to anyone who looks at it, the roots of the water hyacinth is doing the opposite to the living organisms in the lake.

Aside from making it difficult for aquatic plants to gain access to light from the sun, the access to food also becomes a huge issue. The mini islands of water hyacinth also make it impossible for humans to enjoy water activities such as fishing, boating, diving, and swimming. With this, lake owners are left with no choice but to get rid of this colorful but unwanted aquatic plant.

Aquatic Weed Control for Water Hyacinth ďƒ˜ One thing that the lake owner must always remember is that the water hyacinth is considered as one of the fastest proliferating aquatic plants.

 Its reproduction is through stolons and runners, which in the long run produce a fresh breed of water hyacinth.  Aside from that, water hyacinth also has the capacity to produce seeds in large quantities that can last for approximately thirty years. The water hyacinth population can double within just fourteen days.  Without proper control and management, water hyacinth can cover the surface of the lake in just a few days.  It’s also difficult to manage this type of aquatic plant that’s why it’s much wiser if the owner puts more premium on preventing the proliferation of water hyacinth.  Aside from weed cutting, one way to go about this is by controlling the levels of nutrients in the lake.It may not seem much but this does wonders in preventing the proliferation of water hyacinth.  Avoid introducing or adding water hyacinth to the lake, unless some of the personnel are willing to take action or manage the proliferation of this aquatic plant.  When using weed cutting equipment such as the weed cutter to chop off the water hyacinth, it’s best to put it in a compost pile instead of just dumping it in the water way.

Tools of the Trade There are chemicals that can be used to make the daunting task of controlling or managing the proliferation of water hyacinth a lot easier. However, the downside to using these chemicals is that it also has an effect on the other living organisms living in the lake. While pulling the water hyacinth one by one seems like a brilliant idea, it can take an awfully long period of time to finish the process. Aquatic weed control equipment such as the Jenson Lake Mower and the Jenson Rake are excellent tools that can be used to get rid of the water hyacinth since they are effective and they don’t make use of any chemicals. They can also be

used to scoop out other unwanted aquatic plants from the deep parts of the lake and push them near the land for easy disposal.
