Carpenter manufacture more flexible Polyurethane Foam than any other company in the world. To ensure consistency, we produce our own Polyol and blend it at our own facilities in USA and Canada. Conventional and high resilience foam is available in a wide range of densities and colours, including foams with flame-retardant and anti-bacterial properties. All our foam is manufactured to exacting standards and rigoroulsy tested. Customers may take deliveries in slabstock or in sizes cut to their own specifications. Carpenter visco-elastic Memory Foams are arguably the best you can buy. At Carpenter we take our environmental responsibilites seriously. ‘Naturalis’ is a foam in which we replace a part of the fossil fuel by a natural, vegetable oil. All our Bonded Foam products are made from recycled material and are recyclable again, at the end of their life.

With our state-of-the-art technology, we are constantly finding new ways to shape foam into ever more intricate and ergonomic components. We can slit it, peel it and compress it. Carpenter is a world leader in the design and manufacture of three dimensional, individually “moulded” foam products, primarily for use in the furniture and automotive industries. The process can be applied to a wide range of different types of foam, including “Memory Foam”, to produce ergonomically designed “cushions” which are highly resistant to flattening and which will retain their shape and support almost indefinitely. Foam can also be moulded onto a variety of pre-formed frames, made from steel, plastic and wood etc. These high volume components can be delivered “just in time” via our own fleet of vehicles.

Carpenter’s scientists, engineers and technicians have come up with practically every process, product and standard used in the PU foam industry today, it is no surprise therefore that Technical Foams and elastomers are a speciality. Carpenter’s ‘Tyrefill’ range of flat proofing elastomers, is used to protect pneumatic tyres against ‘blow-outs’ or sudden changes in pressure, even under the most arduous conditions. ‘Fireseal’ acoustic foam is highly fire retardant and can be used in a variety of applications, including wall panels, air conditioning ducts and acoustic enclosures. Fireseal is also widely used in mattresses within high risk areas. Carpenter’s technical foams can be found in the the most unexpected of places, from the lining of a tractor roof to the side panel of a piece of luxury luggage.

PU and visco-elastic foam can be used to provide comfort, warmth and support in a wide range of medical products, from pressure relief mattresses to neck pillows, rolls and wedges. As well as supplying mattresses, pillows and toppers, impregnated with antibacterial agents, Carpenter can design, cut, mould, shape and fabricate a wide range of different foams into complex shapes for all types of medical application.

Although you may not be aware of it, you probably come into contact with Carpenter comfort cushioning every day, as we not only supply manufacturers with components, but many of Europe’s leading retailers with ‘own label’ sleep products, like Pillows and Memory Foam Toppers – designed, finished and packaged by Carpenter. You will find a huge variety of mattresses available, from economy models for occasional use, to luxury designs which have a composite blend of different foams, profiled and contoured to distribute heat evenly and guarantee you a good night’s sleep. We have lots of clever ideas like rolled vacuum packed mattresses which you can take home and use the same day and PU foam furniture for the children.
