Terin James Alba, an obviously stunning girl, has more depth to her talent and voice than the eye can see. The staggering power of her vocals twists and turns with the rasp and grit of her tone and lyrics. This first look aims to capture the power behind this woman.
FROM THE STYLIST
Captering the morning after of a long night out. We get to meet the artist at her vanity. Potentially the most vulnerable place for anyone to be. I played up her natural tones with a rocker edge to expose the foundation of this artist. Playing off her vibrant red hair and alabaster skin, I chose shades of pink and red in fabric with dimension and texture. For the jewelry I chose natural stones and chunky pieces, and of course a spiked heel for attitude. ~ Gavin O’Neill

To respect the stylist’s vision, I wanted to maintain the natural tones that he pulled together. Capturing the subject on the set is only half my challenge. My work truly begins when I upload the images to Lightroom to edit. For LOOK 1, I used my personl style of editing. I kept all the colors true and ran a soft color wash filter to reduce the contrast while maintaining the warmth. For the lighting, I chose only one light source. I set up a king-size microfiber sheet on the side and lit the scene with one strobe to give the effect of light coming from a window. Since I didnt want to use a fill light, I had to correct undesired shadows on the subject. ~ Jeremy Ryan
