LARGE CONFERENCE ROOM
SESAC is a performing rights organization representing songwriters and publishers to make sure they are compensated for their work. This project focuses on understanding SESAC as a corporate culture, and creating a new London headquarters that both workers and clients can relate to. When entering SESAC London, you face a large custom reception desk with red industrial piping, which speaks to London’s part in the industrial revolution. In the waiting you can sit down and play with the music mixer table tops, or with the inter active touchscreen glass wall. Guests are constantly being reminded they are in a modern music headquarters, while still having the design aesthetic that London stays true to.

The Illinois institute of art library renovation concept is to make the library as diverse as its surroundings, while still keeping function a main priority. By using an open floor plan, added square footage, and an easily communicable space for every major, we have done just that. In addition, added two main entrances on the east and west walls, with an open air floor to ceiling tubular wall system. Upon entering from either side the school initials ILIA are written out in the front four main desks. The desks work as the Reception/circulation, Filing, Print/Scan, The Cage, and a mixed coffee and wi-fi bar. An earth tone red and deep black act as school colors throughout, mixed with an earth tone green and sand fabrics to make the space a comfortable place to spend time. The floors transition throughout the space, some being concrete to keep the commerciality of the space, and then a light wood to intertwine industrial with comfort. The lighting fixtures were chosen following the same formula. The north wall was finished with a magazine shelf, and pebble floor pillows to lounge and read in comfort. On the south wall, a floor to ceiling shelving system has been created, with a full wall staircase to the mezzanine.

The idea of the Sephora redesign is to simplify the way finding and branding of the existing stores. Throughout the space you find wood, cement, and glass finishes, keeping the clean look and feel of Sephora. The biggest change is that the color and fragrance sections have changed locations. Color is more difficult to view, and there are many more varieties of color than there are fragrance. The entire wall space is now utilized so that make-up brands can be seen from anywhere in the store. This also raises the make-up closer to a person’s view range, for easier visibility and access. The new beauty bar design plays off of the Sephora wave logo. It is showcased in the middle of the store so that customers are surrounded by the products, and others can learn about the beauty bar services. The reception has also taken on a new look with a gold architectural detail wall, giving the shop a focal point and easy way finding to customer service. The new Sephora concept answers Sephora’s current problems, and can be used and enjoyed efficiently by everyone.

THE BARR RESIDENCE I N S P I R A T I O N FLOOR PLAN
The main priority in the Barr Residence was bringing style and functionality together for someone who is aging in place. After creating a new floor plan, aging in place was the first design checklist. After everything was functional for the client, then came the aesthetics. Along with the floor plan all new finishes were selected for existing surfaces. The finishes were selected based off colors you could find in nature, specifically the desert. By combining natural reds, browns, greens, yellows, and blues the Barr family can capture the same serenity inside as they do outside. But if the inside gets stuffy, the sliding glass doors lead to a welcoming outdoor space alongside pool, fireplace, and outdoor kitchen. In every space, a mid-century modern flare that lets you get the Palm Springs midcentury experience, but constantly reminds you you're in the twenty first century.

WAITING LAMP & SIDE TABLE The streets of Charleston are lined with trees, pastel buildings, and antique stores, and it’s one of the most populated cities that stays true to its 1800’s Heritage. The ShoreHouse Charleston is everything except for what you expect out of Charleston, while still reminding you that you can only have this experience here. The idea is an off centered design, which will cater to the more off centered people that visit Charleston every year. Off centered roof lines, out of perspective windows, and unexpected details make this an unforgettable converted warehouse. Every room features a wall of shelves for local artists’ work to be displayed, and available to buy for out of town guests. The ShoreHouse will also feature a restaurant that is centered around the brewery, offering homemade craft beers, local meats, cheese, and vegan options. The ShoreHouse may not fit in, but everyone fits in at the ShoreHouse.

The focus on the Smith's renovation is creating a high end master bath and dressing room. When walking into the master bathroom, you enter into an open concept closet and bath combination. Step onto the dark herringbone wood floors in the open spaces, and a marble tile in the wet areas. The beautiful white marble tub, sinks, shower and fireplace create the perfect contrast with the dark woods to create a timeless feel. A deep blue is brought in through paint as well as crushed velvet drapery and upholstery. Industrial style lighting was added to hold onto the sense of the space being timeless.
