RE-DESIGN TRUMP TOWER A comprehensive integrative design for Trump tower in Chicago with Skidmore Merrill Owings Architects (SOM) Fall 2018 Professor Dr. Michael K. Kim University of Illinois Urbana Champaign Illinois School of Architecture
This studio seeks to engage and understand the complexity of Tall Building and how the building system works and integrates with the design. Understanding the comprehensive approach of designing tall building and incorporate the business aspect of the clients need and requirements. At the scale of the skyscraper the variant floor plans with different programs relate and work cohesively is a challenge that was tackled while designing. The simplicity of the tower was designed keeping into account the lateral and axial load acting on the building. Using solar panels and applying Bernoulli's Principle to obtain electricity and reusing the water with the radiant thermal floors for maintaining the temperature inside the building were some of the sustainable factors used in the design. The Twin tower incorporates all the factors that makes it an integrated and cohesive tall building in Chicago.
RE-DESIGN TRUMP TOWER Location – Chicago, Illinois , United States of America Program – Retail , Office, Condominium and Hotel in Tall building The concept idea was instead of incorporating all the program in one making either the condominium or hotel on the top, the solution was to design a Twin Tower which gives equal weightage to hotel and condominium. The building was split into two giving equal view and business to both field. Also when one building is done building , it can be given off to sale thus generating revenue even before the whole building was built.

The Floor plans narrows as its height increase. The Elevators are arranged in such a way that the staircase are in the outer edge of the core and the main elevators inside which gives ample space for internal circulation giving the user to more around and not just be restricted to one exit and also a lot of corridor space gets reduced due to the internal circulation space

MODULAR HOUSING Illinois Solar Decathlon project 2020 for Design and Build Sustainable and Modular housing May 2020 Design Build Team - Architecture University of Illinois Urbana Champaign Illinois School of Architecture
This project of Illinois Solar Decathlon 2020 competition is a sustainable modular housing that can be replicated as the family or needs increase or decrease. The modular house relates to the place in Urbana Champaign designed for students and families of different size. A site oriented still a universal design complying to ADA rules and regulations making it accessible to all. It is also an energy power bank and uses less energy to retain heat and maintain temperature inside the house. The need for quick construction and sustainable house which works in modules for multi-user is the specialty of the project. The design will be build on the site which is collaborated with Thornton Tomasetti (TT) for the actual build module.
MODULAR HOUSING Location – Champaign, Illinois , United States of America Program – Modular and adaptive house for multi-size families and students The concept idea for the Illinois Solar Decathlon 2020 design is to make a modular house that can grow or reduce its unit size as per need. It caters to all age group and has a flexibility in rearranging the modules for any purpose. The design shows 1-3 modules arrangement which can be incorporated for students, families and also for renting. The design is self sustained and highly insulated with 10” thick wall made with cold form steel.

PANJU ISLAND DEVELOPEMENT Thesis project on Maser planning and detail of Railway station, Resort and Housing for the 300 acres Mangrove Island Final Year Thesis Professor Suneeta Samant University of Mumbai I.E.S College of Architecture Secured Highest and Nominated for Tamayouz International Thesis Competition from College
This project was on 300 Acres Island which is 20km away from Mumbai City, India. A virgin island unexplored by many which sustains 100 families in the island which is primarily into fishing and agriculture. There is a railway train track that crosses the island still it does not have a rpoer access other than ferry which is unsafe during high tide. The project goal was to make the island self sustained, give it proper access and plan the island using the best potential of the site. A self-sustained island was designed in two phases. The first phase was to proposed and designed the extension of village and revenue generating Eco-resort along with Railway station. The second phase is to make an educational complex for nature related studies so that the population fo the island remains constant and it is used for the best of what it inhabits.

RAILWAY STATION Railway station was designed in north south direction to make the sloping roof access to the sunlight to increase the natural light entering the station and also for the solar panels to generate electricity for the village. This multi functional roof of the railway station not just provides accessibility but also stores energy which is sent into the grid for the village to use it.
RESORT Resort was designed in the island to attract tourist and make it a revenue generating medium for the Islanders. It is designed in a tropical style which has symmetry still is organic. The radial plan points to the existing pond on the site wherein the single houses face and also used for boating. A promenade goes across the pond overlooking the sea from the mangrove patch for the natures experience for the visitors. It has an activity center that is closer to the agriculture land for different activities and a bike tour through the existing village for greater interaction with the islanders.
HOUSING MODULES There are tow kinds of housing module designed for the islanders and people visiting for investing on farm lands in the island. The group modules are for the extension for the village increasing the interaction with the villagers. It starts from the node while the farm houses have a 1 acre land for farming which can be taken care by the villagers. Thus it is for people and for islanders.
CARIF – COMMERICAL CENTRE A commercial office centre which is in the heart of Mumbai giving an iconic look to the city Professional Work Role : Junior Architect Pentaspace Consultant Pvt. Ltd.
This project comprises of offices, restaurant and commercial market centre in Mumbai, India. It was in its execution stage when I was involved in it. The project working drawing and the execution coordination under the guidance of my senior architect. The site co-ordination and the detailing of each part was my role in the project. An ambitious project with many things to learn about detail and executing the unique structure was learned in the process during my time in office with Pentaspace consultants Pvt. Ltd. As a Junior Architect got all the opportunity to learn and my Director Harsh Pote and Senior Architect Priyanka Churi.
RETIREMENT RETREAT CENTRE A government project to make a prototype of Senior citizens reteirement centre in 1 Acre of Land Professional Work Role : Project Architect Pentaspace Consultant Pvt. Ltd.
This project was with collaboration with government to be made in different states in 1 acre of land for the senor citizens sanctioned by the government. The design was presented to the Government of India and is in proposal stage. The project designed by me with the director of the firm and was handling the project right from client meeting, brochure making and calculating the BOQs and all the required electrical , sanitation drawing with an intern with me.
RETIREMENT RETREAT CENTRE Location – Mumbai, India Program – Housing for the senior citizens , accessible and user friendly The concept was to make it barrier free and round corners for no sharp ends. The open plan gives multiple spaces for different uses with the courtyards as the central focal. The project has medical facilities in the building on the first level with the rooms for senior citizens on two levels and third level for visiting doctors and care-takers.

These are few of the models that I had made during my graduate, undergraduate and also when I was working as a Professional and Leader in different committee. It is culmination of the works that is close to me and are selected few which was recognized in other streams for the best work of Art. I have received award in Art work installation of Global symposium on the Life as its concept. The deployable structures were exhibited in How structures move in University of Illinois Urbana Champaign under the guidance of Professor Sudarshan Krishnan which was captured by BTN Networks The passion for model making had started from the high school days and it is still an integral part of my creativity. I believe in doing more than just architecture to expand my horizon in all the fields of art that excites me.

The love for photography developed when I was in Architecture first year. I joined this Weekend shoot group and every weekend we try exploring different places with our lens to capture beautiful architecture, frame and art that inspires us. These pictures were displayed in the IAWS Exhibition from my first to final year. Also one of them was published in the Newspaper – Mid-day , one of the leading newspaper in India. The quest to capture beautiful frames is still on and will never cease.
