03 PUBLICATION DESIGN Throughout the four years in the school of Art, Design and Media, I was given the opportunity to produce various types of publications and collaterals. Exploring the unique relationship between type and image, a variety of editorial designs were developed to suit the content of the publications. Publications became a platform for me to exhibit and showcase my command of sensitivity to the grid and design elements.

03/1 DESIGN REPORT When I was working in DP Architects Singapore, I was tasked to design the design report for the Eighth Gate Mall in Dasmascus, Syria. Designing this report helped to open my views and ideas about architectural process, allowing me to have a better understanding of the requirement involved in architectural construction and design.

04 TYPOGRAPHY DESIGN In the design of a typeface, I learnt about the kerning and tracking of letters. I’ve also learnt to be sensitive to every details in a letter, learning that type is combined with negative space, graphic elements and pictures, forming a relationship and dialog between the words and images. Both of my Type poster, I’ve enlarged the typefaces so that the details of each letter design is magnified.

05 /1 SONG JIANG FESTIVAL Song Jiang Festival is an unique folk martial art skill combined with religious ritual in Taiwan. It involves 36 members dressed as the chinese folk characters from the novel, “Water Margin”, performing martial arts and battle arrays formations. The poster was illustrated and designed with the intention of forming the chinese character, “righteousness & Loyalty.” with the 36 heroes in the chinese folk novel.

36 figurines created and made out of paper and presented to the public.
05 CAMPAIGN DESIGN Campaign design is a series of messages in different medium that share a single idea or theme. I’ve learnt that the most crucial part about a campaign design is determining the campaign theme. A campaign theme sets the tone for the whole visual communication and advertising, so that the single idea or message is communicated to the viewers. PG 22

GENESIS / CAMPAIGN
THE INSTALLATION “When does life start?” A comtemplative question often asked, yet, seldom concluded. abortion is a very touchy and controversial topic in Singapore. Instead of showing graphical images of aborted children, I’ve created an installation of a bathroom scene. I want my viewers to see that Life is a cycle, consisting of many other smaller cycles such as the rise and dawn of the day.
PG 24
Drawing parallels to these notions, abortion itself is also a cycle. Ever since abortion was legalised in Singapore during 1969, it is performed daily in a fix routine. Therefore when abortion becomes standardised, these daily repetitive killings seem to be diluted into our culture, taking this gift of life for granted and thus human life becomes less valuable. A bathroom is also a place that we become highly conscious of our physical being yet subconscious at the same time due to the repetitive nature of
our daily motions just like the mothers who goes to an abortion clinic with a conscious mind to abort but subconscious not knowing that it is wrong. Therefore we can most certainly agree that life itself is a gift regardless of age and other external factors. The safeguarding of new lives lies in our hands. Hence, to stop abortion is to choose the continuity of the cycle of life and to treasure this gift of life that has been given to us.
GENESIS / CAMPAIGN
05 /2 CHOICE FOR LIFE This campaign was done to challenge the controversial topic of abortion. As a strong advocate in the gift of life, it is my desire to be the spokesperson for the unborn and the defender of the defenseless.
IS EVERY HUMAN BEING A PERSON?
With the intention to make a stand on pro-life, I aim to raise awareness in the society through the exploration of the complexities in the political, economical and social dimensions of this issue. I aspires to inculcate in my viewers the detrimental repercussions of abortion and encourages the contemplation of alternative solutions as a means to the problem instead.
