The Life and Legacy of Jerone Burke Jerone Joseph Burke was born in Los Angeles, California, on November 20, 1967, To Moses Burke and Shirley Harris-Burke. Early in life, he and his mother had a very close bond. They both spent a great deal of time together. It was during their bonding where Jerone learned and mastered his "master chef" culinary skills. His mother also introduced him to Christianity at an early age. He accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and was baptized. Jerone spent his youthful years participating in the Boy Scouts and developing a love for karate. He spent many hours practicing martial arts with his father, uncle Brad, and cousins, mastering the art and discipline, eventually attaining the designation of a Black Belt. At the age of 11, Jerone became a big brother and excitedly welcomed his younger brother Moses Jason Burke into their family. He was very protective of his family. Jerone took his younger brother with him everywhere he went. They were like two peas in a pod. He served as "Big Bro" to Jason up until his untimely death. Together, they developed a passion for mustangs and spent most of their teenage and adult lives learning how to modify fast cars. Jerone received his formal education and graduated from Washington Preparatory High School. After graduation, he went on to learn and work within the pipefitting skilled trades. Always wanting to expand his career, Jerone became employed within the plumbing industry with the company Mr. Rooter. He became one of Mr. Rooter's top plumbers and received several awards and recognition for his work. Jerone later went on to start his own plumbing business, becoming a successful entrepreneur. Jerone loved and cherished the special moments he spent with his children: Matthew Rodriquez, Teleah Rodriguez, Jocelyn Burke, Abril Burke, Jerone Burke Jr., and Ayanna Brown. His children were his pride and joy. On Sunday, March 7, 2021, at 53, Jerone Joseph Burke peacefully departed his earthly life due to complications related to a stroke. He was preceded in death by his father, Moses Burke, in 2020. Jerone is survived by his daughters: Jocelyn Burke; Abril Burke; Teleah Rodriguez and her husband Davion Jones; Ayanna Brown; his sons: Matthew Rodriguez and his Wife Navolita Ikahihifo Rodriguez; Jerone Burke Jr. and his Wife Janae Waddis-Burke; His grandchildren: Journie Kierra Burke, Harmonie Rose Burke, Ethan Jones, Jaslene Rodriguez, Tooni Rodriguez, Zachary Rodriguez, Leilani Rodriguez, Navaeh T'nes Burke, and Skyler Burke; his mother Shirley Harris-Burke; his younger brother Moses Jason Burke and his wife Tonya Burke; His Nephew and Nieces: Devon Richardson, Brianna Richardson, and Jaylyn Burke; and a host of beloved family members including his uncles, aunts, cousins, in-laws, and close friends. We will always have Jerone's bright smile and infectious laugh etched in our memories.
