From the empty site, design transformation focus on zoning setting. The backside of the site is a private zone in the area and near the main entrance is a public and semi-public zone. The location of the co-housing and elderly community center design is on Jalan Merbabu Raya, Mojosongo, Jebres, Surakarta. The application of a radial pattern on the design site of the co-housing and community center can facilitate access for the elderly who live in the residence, while paying attention to the distance between the residence and the community center as well as architectural accessibility along the pedestrian such as resting areas every 9 meters, pergolas, and handrails. The pedestrian is also designed to be accessible for wheelchair users.

MASS TRANSFORMATION

The basic mass form uses a square base shape.

Selection of the basic shape of the square mass is in accordance with the condition of the elderly who require high exibility to be able to move and have good circulation in the application of the design.

The nal result of the residential mass composition forms an U, because it has a protective impression. The invincible composition of the masses with the behavior of elderly people who require a sense of security will be protected during the aging process.

Spatial patterns in co-housing and community centers require an empty room type, not much furniture so that circulation and activities of the elderly are not disturbed. The adaptability concept in accordance with the criteria of the elderly is also applied to the workshop room, music room, and multipurpose room by using a wall divider in the form of a semi-permanent wall that has been given a damper, so that it does not interfere when the room will be used separately.

Noise reducer plants will be prioritized to be planted in residential areas adjacent to the road outside the dwelling, so as to reduce noise coming from vehicles. Shade trees will also be used as noise absorbers.

The concept of a total plan form of a residential unit is made to t the elderly's needs for attention and protection.

This residence is also equipped with accessibility in each room, making it easier for the elderly to move around. The concept of the overall plan of the residential unit is made to hang according to the needs of the elderly for attention and protection.

The ofce area consist of several rooms to accommodate each working manager and provide a platform for visitors who want to know about co-housing and elderly community center. In this building, there is also a guard room who will be on guard 24 hours if something happens to the elderly who live or are on the move. In addition, a medical room is available in the ofce area to check elderly health and care for the sick elderly.

Cool colors are used in private rooms, such as bedrooms and bathrooms because they give the impression of being calm, stable, comfortable, and fresh. In addition, cool colors can also give a spacious impression to a small room. While warm colors are used in active spaces, such as rooms in elderly community centers, and shared spaces in dwellings because they give a friendly, comfortable, and happy impression. Material selection is also adjusted to the needs of the elderly in the room. For example, the choice of oor material in residential and community centers is reproduced using wood vinyl because it is not slippery and anti-slip, so it does not endanger the elderly when making a move.
