As people come into services or are looking for services we want to be able to provide them with a professional looking package of information to assist them with making decisions.” This includes the brochure on general services, children services, and information specific to other programs and homes that are owned by CORE. Each of these homes has entrance requirements and considers physical conditions of persons. CORE seeks to have brochures or a page listing the features of each home to be included as part of these packages. The intent behind this project is to have families walk away with one package that contains any and all information they need regarding CORE Association. The target audience of this design project is the families seeking information of CORE and its services. This includes those individuals that may be of some mental or physical disability, therefore it is required that the information be simple, easily read and understood; not too complicated or busy in appearance. Also, it should represent the “abilities” of those helped and not their “disabilities.” Being that CORE is a charity, cost efficiency is appreciated, yet a level or professionalism must be maintained to uphold its reputation. Services Based upon the initial presentation given by Debbie Shaw on November 13, 2012, I propose to provide the following services: Information Package Design • Develop an information package housing information regarding the CORE Association and its services in a creative, clear, comprehensive, and professional manor • Organize and design the way in which information is communicated and contained within this package Deliverables • Design Brief • Process Book • Final Solution: Physical and Digital Copy of the Information Package • PDF uploaded to Blackboard

Phase 5
Execution
Rationale: The whole “Big-Idea” of this design is that independant living is at the core with the services available at the CORE Association. I chose to use a circular motif throughout this design, reminicent of a core and/or center. I have created a series of booklets and poster made out of folded 11” x 17” paper that are assembled to both look and function as a bag full of information for clients to take with them. These booklets are held together in by a fastener that goes through the center. Each booklet then comes apart and information and/or pages can be easily added or subtracted with the use of saddle-stich binding in each booklet’s centre fold. Also, these pieces of paper can function as information posters and simply be unfolded to reveal information inside. This saves the CORE Association on costs associated with outsourced printers and can be easily assembled by staff members. Arial and Arial Rounded typefaces are used throughout the design. This sans serif font is crisp, clean, and easily legible. To keep legibility easy for clientelle, no type size less than 10 point is used in this design. The colour used in the final solution is turquoise.Turquoise is the colour of clarity of thought and open communication. Also, this colour gives a fresh, clean appearance in the design. There are slight variations in colour that may be used in the colour scheme, all of them variations of green-blue that coincide with the turquiose used.

Assembled Package: Remove center fastener to take apart
The handle is 11 x 17 folded three times lengthwise in half
The biggest booklet is 11x 17 folded once in half
The middle sized book is 11”x 17” folded in half twice
The smallest book is 11x 17 folded in half four times. Here it demonstrates how inserting pages functions as a book
