Plains Periodical Official Newsletter for the Plains Division
Volume 1 Issue 1
Hello, Plains Division! I hope everyone had a great summer! The fall semester is just around the corner, and we have a lot of exciting updates coming to the Plains Division of Circle K this year. One new update is the Plains Periodical. This is a newsletter that will have news from across the district and division. In future editions each club will be featured in their own corner so be sending in any information that you would like to include or members you would like recognize. Another major change this year is an increase in communication. Club officers can expect a weekly update on all things going on in the district and division. An exciting addition to this year will be division rallies. There will be one rally held in the fall and one in the winter. The date for our fall rally has already been set! Keep your calendars clear for October 13th! The location is still to be announced. Here’s to a great service year! Yours in service, Plains Division Lt. Governor Jessica Bloom

Circle K International Circle K is an international organization with clubs all over the world. Some of the nations with Circle K clubs include Canada, Taiwan, and Jamaica. And that’s only naming a few! To keep everything straight, clubs are organized into districts. We are part of the Alabama district.
The Alabama District The Alabama District is divided into 8 divisions based on geographic location. These divisions are Capital, Foothills, Gulf, Plains, Valley, Vulcan, Warrior, and Wiregrass. We are in the Plains Division.
The Plains Division
The Plains Division includes Chambers, Coosa, Elmore, Lee, Macon, Randolph, Russell, and Tallapoosa counties. Currently, there are two colleges with a Circle K club within the Plains Division.

A New Look for CKI
If you noticed that this newsletter has a different look than other CKI materials, you would be absolutely correct! Circle K International has released a new branding guide. By using this guide you are helping to make Circle K a household name. You can check out the new regulations at circlek.org.
International Convention International Convention was held in Vancouver, Canada, and Alabama was represented by Governor Zach Nolen and Secretary Meggie Hall. The convention served many purposes, including electing the international board and addressing proposed amendments.
One Spark and RIF One Spark is the Alabama District project to raise $50,000 In five years for Reading is Fundamental (RIF). This year the district has set a goal to raise $10,000, and the Plains Division has committed to raising $500 of that.
Reading is Fundamental
Although this sounds like a large sum of money, we can achieve this with the help of every club in the Alabama District. The possibilities to contribute are endless! One great fundraising idea is to organize a night at a local restaurant where a portion of the proceedings go to RIF. There is much more we can do for RIF than just raising funds! The RIF warehouse is located right here in the Plains Division. This gives us a great opportunity to volunteer labeling and organizing books. Another activity that Circle K can participate in for RIF is school readings. Go check at your local school or day care to find volunteer opportunities!
Stay Connected
There are numerous ways to stay in touch with everything Circle K. Some of these include Facebook, www.alabamacki.org, www.circlek.org, texting, email, and, of course, face-to-face interaction. On top of these, a new means of being connected is the Circle K mobile app. Download this free app today!

Goal Incentives We have put some incentives in place for a few of the district goals. If the Alabama District reaches 500 members and there are 150 members at District Convention, Governor Zach Nolen will dye his hair green at District Convention. If there are 8 new clubs chartered, District Administrator David Womack will buzz his head at District Convention. I would love to set some incentives for the Plains Division goals. If anyone has any suggestions about possible incentives, send them my way!
