How do I sign up?
When do we practice? For the first two weeks starting August 1st through August 16th we will have 10 hours per week of no-contact (total 20 hours of conditioning) practice. After August 16th will practice 6 hours per week on Monday, Tuesday, & Thursday from 6 pm – 8 pm. Conditioning is very important so that players are ready to take the field with their equipment, so for those that missed conditioning hours in the first two weeks, coaches may require an additional 2 hour practice. Throughout the entire season, in the event that inclement weather causes us to cancel a practice, practices may be rescheduled for Friday or Saturday.
You may complete your registration and submit your payment online or at one of our registration events; check our Facebook page for a list of all events. You may also contact us to request your registration packet. Payment plans are available for registration dues, completed registration packet and all paperwork must be submitted prior to player taking the field.

We aim to familiarize players with the fundamentals of football through fun athletic learning opportunities while emphasizing the importance of academic success. Is game attendance required? Each team is required to have a certain number of players per game. If there aren’t enough players on game day, our team would have to forfeit and that game would be counted as a loss and would significantly impact your team’s chances at making it to the Pop Warner Championship – so it’s VERY important that if there are any unforeseen or unavoidable absences that you notify your coach as soon as you are aware you will need to miss a game. If you are having transportation issues affecting your ability to make it to practices or games, please talk to one of your team’s board members or team parents to see if we are able to make arrangements, we are here to help!

Why Pop Warner Football?
Established in 1929, Pop Warner Little Scholars, Inc. (PWLS) is a non-profit organization that has provided youth football, cheer, and dance programs for participants in 42 states and several countries around the world. With approximately 325,000 participants, Pop Warner is the largest youth football, cheer and dance program in the world.
2015 Pop Warner Ages/ Weights Matrix for Tackle Football Programs:
Pop Warner exists to use football, cheerleading, dance, and a respect for education to develop strong, smart, responsible, healthy young men and women. We give them experiences that build their appreciation for and understanding of leadership, teamwork, and discipline.
Academics & Athletics What makes Pop Warner unique as an organization is our commitment to academic excellence among our participants. At every level, Pop Warner programs seek to develop wellrounded young men and women who learn not only the fundamentals of football, cheerleading, and dance but also the importance of education in an atmosphere conducive to developing sound character while having a good time.
Safety In Pop Warner football player safety is priority. Participating in Pop Warner football allows players to learn the rules of football in a safer* environment based on a structured age-weight schematic. Pop Warner players are required to weigh in at every game to ensure that they are in compliance with the age-weight system requirements; these rules may seem superfluous, but the Pop Warner age-weight structure has been proven to significantly reduce the incidence of serious head and neck injuries and disruptive joint injuries found at higher levels of football. All of the coaches, board members, volunteers, and team parents with the Garden City Falcons go through mandatory background checks, concussion training and are also Heads Up and/or YCADA certified. Additionally, we have a player safety coach whose sole job is to monitor the safety of the kids, as well as train and educate the parents about equipment, concussions, player safety, etc. The injury rate in Pop Warner Football is less than onethird the injury rate in high school football (AND) less than one-fifth the injury rate in college football (AND) less than one-ninth the injury rate in professional football. Pop Warner football has 12% fewer injuries per capita among 515 year olds than organized soccer in the same age range!

Academic Requirements A participant must maintain a 2.0 Grade Point Average/70 percent in school in order to participate during the season.
No tryouts & no roster cuts. Mandatory Play Rules – There is a mandatory rule for play, so every child is guaranteed to play a minimum number of plays per game. More than just athletes! - Pop Warner Little Scholars Program is the only national youth sports organization in America that not only requires its participants to perform adequately in the classroom, but also rewards its members for outstanding academic achievements. Pop Warner National Championships - Each year, Pop Warner hosts the Pop Warner Super Bowl and National Cheer and Dance Championships. For the past 11 years, the event has taken place at ESPN's Wide World of Sports ComplexTM at Disney World. Safer than soccer! – Kids compete with kids of similar age and size. Pop Warner is the ONLY youth football program (local, regional and national) that sets and enforces a strict age and weight matrix that reduces the risk of injuries. Concussion Prevention & Awareness –In addition to its more stringent return to play concussion rules, Pop Warner took the lead in youth sports by creating a Medical Advisory Board. The Board was created to ensure Pop Warner remains proactive on all medical issues that affect youth sports, particularly football and cheerleading, with a primary focus on prevention and proper identification and treatment of concussions, hydration awareness, proper nutrition guidelines, and general health and safety issues. It all starts here – The National Football League Players Association (NFLPA) estimates that between 60% and 70% of all NFL players began their careers playing Pop Warner Football.
All that aside, it’s no secret that participating in Pop Warner Football is just all out fun.
