CANOPY COFFEE DESIGN FUNDAMENTALS III STUDIO OCTOBER 3- NOVEMBER 5, 2018 TEMPE, AZ The program consists of a shaded outdoor area along Tempe Town Lake that houses a local coffee shop and a place of rest. This outdoor community area was designed with a goal of inviting water into the space. The foundation was then reflected shape-wise into the awning above. With the split into the shade structure, the water from when it rains will be allowed to enter while creating a visual experience as it falls into where the platform allows the lake to exist. The precision of the structure based on the model was able to be translated accordingly into a concise site plan.

SHAPELY SHADOWS DESIGN FUNDAMENTALS I STUDIO NOVEMBER 2- NOVEMBER 28, 2017 TEMPE, AZ One of the most basic concepts that help any idea stand out is the exploration between light and shadow. There are many meanings when it comes to project development and these specific studies are the result of the way light flows past different solid shapes at various angles. The experimentation between light and shadow guides the mind to focus on depth, perception, and distance. The materials used, butter board and neutral shades of paper, were conducive to discovering the perfect angles and giving the light a chance to dance around. Not only was light insightful to manipulate but also the arrangement of what the light will be passing through gives a different perspective as well.

LAKESIDE LEARNING ARCHITECTURAL STUDIO II FEBRUARY 12- MAY 11, 2020 TEMPE, AZ What really defines a library in this day and age? Nowadays, it really is more than a place to reference books. There are many aspects of a library that help people work on self-development and self discovery. This project started out as a parti development based on criteria for a branch library along Tempe Town Lake. The parti then was further developed to programming a functional layout, formal identity, materiality, and envelope. It’s main goal was to breakdown the basic form of a cube which represents the core necessities of what makes a library resourceful. Then, attach aspects of what make a library to the cube such as community, family development, and financial assistance. There are key areas of refinement that focus on porous facades, grouping programs, and a general area that connects to the surrounding environment.

HOVERING WALKABILITY DESIGN FUNDAMENTALS III STUDIO SEPTEMBER 15- OCTOBER 23, 2018 TEMPE, AZ When it comes to purpose of existence, community is something that the human race thrives upon. It provides the opportunity to interact with one another productively and efficiently. This study focused on circulation, walkability, fixed light in confined spaces, and the connection between land and water. People who walk into this space are welcomed with light interaction in the buildings over the course of a day, a network of vegetation, a visual and interactive disruption between land and water, and a relationship among attendants.

LOS ARBOLES HOUSE FREELANCE FOR BROOKE BOGART OCTOBER 11- NOVEMBER 19, 2020 TEMPE, AZ One of the most popular trends in renovating spaces is to make rooms feel more open than what they actually are. This project was renovating spaces of a house soon to be on the market. The renders focused on a minimalist and clean design that made the spaces feel open by allowing mounds of light in and major reconstruction of walls. The incorporation of textures and neutral colors show the potential of the overall design.
