WHAT TO EXPECT

Silliness, hugs and laughter

If I have one piece of advice for parents, it is to take a deep breathe, smile and embrace the chaos!

My approach to sessions is rooted in play! I will have you play silly games, keep kids moving and be generally silly to ensure those genuine smiles!

While being silly, kids will do the darnedest things, and THAT'S OKAY! I am completely used to kids being kids and I am only concerned with getting the best images possible.

Try your best not to get frustrated or upset. I promise, although it may feel like chaos, I have got this!

Sometimes I will sit down and just talk to kids a bit to gain their trust, sometime's I will make fart noises, sometime's I will ask you what makes them the happiest.

Try not to stand behind me and get their attention as it will result in images of them looking off camera. I will get their attention and I have all the best tricks to get them to laugh.

TIPS FOR HAVING THE BEST SESSION

Arrive a few minutes prior to your session.

Bring bug spray if your session is occurring in summer.

Make sure your kids do not have any temporary tattoos or stamps on their hands.

Don't worry if you get anything on you during the session, it can be edited out!

Know that your kids are NOT being naughty! They are doing exactly what I want them to be doing!

Make sure you bring a leash for your dog.

Embrace the chaos Let me do the rest!

WHAT TO WEAR

The biggest prep for your session will be choosing your outfits!

Here are the best tips to ensure your images remain classic and timeless.

Do not dress all in the same thing! Try and make sure everyone has their own unique style.

Avoid clothing with logos or sayings on them. Plain is best.

Pick a color palette to keep your outfits connected. For example: creams, browns and blues.

Fall color palettes tend to work very well in Saskatchewan. Think creams, browns, reds, oranges, greens and yellows.

Add interest to your photos by adding in layers (sweaters, coats, overskirts, hats, etc...).

Don't forget the shoes! Try and keep them very neutral. If on the beach or in a grassed area, you can go barefoot as well!
