ASoG Pre-Election Summit Exactly 7 days before elections, the Ateneo School of Government (ASoG) is organizing a Pre-election summit of eminent election monitoring bodies to provide a venue for them to discuss their unique monitoring contexts to the public. Registration will begin 10:00 am of Monday, May 3, 2010 at the Astroria Plaza, 15 J. Escriva Drive Ortigas Business District, Pasig City. Former COMELEC Chair and OneVoice Chairperson Christian Monsod will provide analysis of the status of the 2010 automated polls (specifically the AES) and provide the backdrop to the climate of politics that confront election monitoring organizations. Social Weather Stations President, Dr. Mahar Mangahas will follow with a presentation of a Pre-Election Survey. In the afternoon a panel of key election monitoring groups shall discuss their unique monitoring contexts and the challenges they face on the ground to ensure credible elections. Room to Room Campaign and Promotions May 4-8 marks the final week before Election Day. Thus, ATF2010 will maximize its efforts in encouraging youth involvement and accountable voting through different promotional methods, such as Room to Room Campaign, Caf Raids, and Public Announcements, in the Ateneo Loyola Schools Campus, including the Ateneo Residence Halls.
Voters’ Education In cooperation with the Office for Social Concern and Involvement (OSCI), the ATF2010 invites you to learn more about responsible voting and social involvement by attending the Voters’ Education Orientation on May 4. This will be held in the Social Sciences Conference Rooms 1 and 2 at3:00-4:30 PM and 4:306:00 PM. To accommodate as many people as possible, you may choose to attend any of the two time slots.
Wear Your Candidate’s Color Day Let’s paint the true blue Ateneo campus with more colors! Be proud and show your support to your candidate by wearing your bet’s color on Friday, May 7. Get to know other Ateneans who are with you and your candidate.
Ateneo Exhibit, Concert and Mass for the 2010 National Elections On May 8 (4:00-7:00 PM), join the Ateneo community in prayer for the 2010 National Elections. An exhibit on Voters’ Education and Registration will be opened, followed by a prayer concert in Church of the Gesu. The event will be culminated by a mass to be presided by Bishop Teodoro Bacani.
Mobilization (PPCRV Poll Watching) ATF2010, in partnership with the Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV), will send volunteers to different poll stations to ensure clean, honest, and peaceful elections on May 10. Kindly visit MVP 220 for further information on how to be an eye of the Filipino community by being an active participant of this event.
