PRESS RELEASE Contact: Holly Hodge, Director of Program Operations 405-815-9995 artspace@1ne3.org FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Restored Late 20th Century Works on Display at ARTSPACE at Untitled ARTSPACE at Untitled presents Works on Paper, from the Oklahoma State Arts Council collection. Oklahoma City, OK (February 15, 2018) – ARTSPACE exhibits the unique properties of printmaking with Works on Paper, featuring a special selection of paper works from the late 20 th century. The art center’s gift from the Oklahoma State Arts Council contains over 100 works on paper from the mid 1970s and ‘80s by Oklahoma artists. As part of ARTSPACE’S Graphic Arts Resource Center, these works use a variety of techniques showcasing paper’s dynamic potential. Many pieces have been restored, but show discoloration, torn edges, and signs of decay. More than simply art on display, these works serve as educational tools in preservation, informing artists, students and collectors on the framing and care of paper works. Many practices taught in ARTSPACE’s printmaking studio appear in Works on Paper, including serigraphy, intaglio, monotypes, dry-point etching, lithography and collage. Alongside works from the Oklahoma State Arts Council, original prints from former Artists in Residence will be exhibited in the art center’s library gallery. Many AIR participants employ the same techniques on display in Works on Paper, while showcasing printmaking’s recent innovations. Works on Paper runs February 22 to March 17 in ARTSPACE’s main gallery. Additional Information Opening Reception: February 22 at 5-8 p.m. www.1ne3.org About ARTSPACE at Untitled ARTSPACE at Untitled is an environment designed to stimulate creative thought and new ideas through contemporary art.
