Before Your Shoot Before your shoot we will work closely together to make sure that your photo shoot is everything that you are hoping it will be, and that it will be something that will reflect your individual personality in the best way possible. Prior to your session you will come in for a consultation and we will fill out a questionnaire which will give me a little insight into your personality and interests. We will go over wardrobe and some other styling information as well as discuss what sorts of products you may be interested in! This appointment helps you to feel comfortable prior to your session.
Wardrobe
Planning your wardrobe for a session can be daunting, which is why we will get together for your consultation and work closely through your Pinterest board. My biggest piece of advice is to bring things that make you feel confident and gorgeous. I always recommend you bring 4 or 5 outfits that make you feel good, and of course, the more you bring, the better you will be! Top tips: - Form fitting pieces are best for slimming. Even if you feel it’s not flattering, it will be! -Think textures! Such as lace, ruffles, sequins and ruching add visual interest. Textured clothing in solid colors. Try to avoid patterns. - Bring a variety of colors – Neutral/Nude, Dark (black or grey), and colors that you love!
- V-Necks and plunging necklines are more slimming than higher necklines. - Paler skin tones should avoid nude colored tops, black is great! Darker skin tones look wonderful in bold colors! -Layers are a great way to add interest! -Bring your favorite pair of jeans for a casual look. -Don’t forget that fabulous gown in the back of your closet that you hardly get to wear! -Be sure that you bring the correct undergarments for each item that you bring (strapless bras, nude colored panties, matching bras and underwear sets, etc). If you have any pieces that make you feel super sexy, definitely bring those as well!
Studio Closet We are always on the lookout for gorgeous and versatile pieces to add to the closet at the studio to help supplement clients wardrobes. We have also been successful at creating an entire wardrobe for clients in a pinch just from pieces we have in the studio already! These photos are just a small sampling of the types of pieces we have on hand for you to use!
Hair and Makeup Your photoshoot includes professional makeup and hair styling by one of the amazingly talented stylists on my team. I have hand selected each of these stylists because of their ability to work with a variety of looks and their knowledge of the unique requirements that applying makeup for photography entail.
We have created this makeup chart as an easy reference for you to select just the right level of makeup for your shoot! Keep in mind that the look you select will be how the look will be represented in the final images. The makeup you see in the mirror will be slightly darker and more obvious‌ Our stylists are trained to know this difference so that your images will always be exactly what you are envisioning!
The Studio
We have furnished our intimate studio with shades of grey and white so that any skin tone, hair color or wardrobe you bring will coordinate with our sets.
In addition to large windows and gorgeous natural light we are equipped with multiple backdrops and various forms of professional lighting so that we are able to accommodate most any look you are interested in!
The Shoot On the day of your shoot, you’ll want to plan approximately 3 hours for your session. Your shoot will begin as soon as the stylist is finished with you and you are satisfied with the way your hair and makeup look! We will unpack your things and sort through everything you brought while planning the final touches of how we are going to use it all. By the time we start photographing anything, you will likely be comfortable and relaxed, even if you were nervous coming into the shoot! The session fee is $400 and includes all of this, as well as a $100 credit to put toward product at your viewing and ordering appointment.
The Reveal 2-3 weeks after your session, we will get together again for your viewing and ordering appointment. This is when we will sit down together and sort through your images, narrow down your favorites and start designing your gorgeous products. We will start with a slideshow of your images, and then we will go through one by one and pick your favorites. From there, we will start figuring out exactly how you want things displayed and work on designing the final touches. Products start at $275 and go up from there. If you are paying in full at the appointment, your products are typically ready within 3-4 weeks. If you are utilizing a payment plan, then they will be ready 34 weeks after your payment plan is completed!
