Architecture Re-Imagined
Including a breadth of luxury hand woven and jacquard fabrics merging the barrier of traditional hand weaving techniques with technical advancements such as retro reflective elements. The areas of research which influenced the initial concept are new technical developments in textiles, innovative fabrics and future concepts and visions. The design ideas were inspired by modern and future architecture. These ideas were developed from researching Norman Foster’s architecture through photography, mark making and innovative drawing techniques. Patterns and structures were developed through CAD techniques by merging and repeating drawings and photographs of the chosen architecture. The intended application for these innovative fabrics will cover all aspects of transport from upholstery fabrics that could be found on a train or in automotive applications; to fashion which could be worn on the commute to work.
